‘Mission 360’ simply means getting 360 or more seats in the Lok Sabha, but the real magic number behind it is 362. Actually, to pass a constitutional amendment in the Lok Sabha with 543 members, two-thirds majority is required, which comes to the figure of 362 seats. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is still far away from this figure, but it has made a proper strategy to achieve it. NDA had won 293 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Apart from these, some independent and very small parties also said to support the government, due to which the total number in favor of the government reached about 321. Now 41 more MPs are needed to reach 362. Now where will these 41 MPs come from? The answer to this is the strategy of ‘sendh’…

Which parties has BJP prepared to attack?

NDA is eyeing three big opposition parties whose number of MPs can complete this mathematics. These three parties are Samajwadi Party (SP), DMK and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction). See the current Lok Sabha seats of these three:

SP: 37 MPs

DMK: 22 MPs

NCP (Sharad Pawar): 8 MPs

That means a total of 67 MPs.

If only 41 MPs from these three parties break away and join the NDA, then the government’s tally will go from 321 to 362 and two-thirds majority will be confirmed. That is why there is special focus on these parties.

Party by party, how will the damage be done?

1. Samajwadi Party (37 seats) – the biggest target

SP had performed tremendously in UP by winning 37 seats, but there are many types of tussles going on within the party. Some SP MPs are also being investigated by central agencies. If sources are to be believed, NDA’s strategy is to break a big faction of SP and bring it together. If 25-30 SP MPs also secede, it will almost be a game.

2. DMK (22 seats)- dent in the south

DMK has a strong hold in Tamil Nadu and has 22 MPs. It is not easy to break through there directly, but according to reports, some DMK MPs are said to be angry with the party leadership. Besides, there may also be pressure on them for action by central agencies. NDA hopes that some MPs will either directly join BJP or at least support it at the time of constitutional amendment.

3. NCP-Sharad Pawar (8 seats) – Maharashtra game

In Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar’s NCP is already included in the NDA. Now pressure is being put on the remaining 8 MPs of Sharad Pawar’s NCP. These MPs are also feeling insecure after the defeat in the recent assembly elections. NDA feels that at least 4-5 out of these 8 MPs may change sides.

Apart from this, NDA is also expanding its reach from the Northeast. Mizoram’s ruling party ZPM is ready to provide issue-based support to the NDA. NDA already has 16 seats out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in the North-East. If necessary, some Congress MPs may also remain absent during important voting.

Why is this figure of 41 so important?

If the government gets two-thirds majority, it can amend the Constitution without any hindrance. The big decisions that NDA is preparing are:

Uniform Civil Code (UCC): To implement uniform personal law in the entire country.

One country-one election: Holding elections for Lok Sabha and all the Legislative Assemblies simultaneously.

National Anti-Conversion Law: Making a strict central law on matters like ‘Love Jihad’ apart from the states.

Reservation and other reforms: To constitutionally further strengthen reservation on economic basis.

If delimitation is not done, the Constitution will have to be amended to take it forward. Doing this will show failure of the government. The recipe for women’s reservation has been devised so that delimitation is done and there is no opposition. Lok Sabha seats will increase by giving one-third reservation to women. Under its cover, delimitation will also get legal recognition. One country, one election may also require a two-thirds majority.

So will BJP’s Mission 360 fail??

‘Mission 360’ is not just an election slogan, but a complete blueprint for manipulation and political upheaval in the coming months. If NDA gets 41 MPs, the government will have the power to implement any major constitutional change. Because of this, the actions of every MP of SP, DMK and NCP are now under close watch.

Apart from this, the central government will focus on two things:

41 more MPs will have to be collected: 41 opposition MPs should join the NDA through break, merger or support or form a separate faction and support the government.

Opposition MPs remained absent: By doing this the effective number of members in Parliament will decrease. Then two-thirds figure will come to 319. For this, SP (37), DMK (22), NCP-Sharad Pawar (8) and TMC (8) i.e. 61 out of total 75 MPs will have to be absent. 7 independent and 10 MPs from small parties are also under surveillance. If necessary, efforts may be made to keep some MPs of Congress (98) also absent.

The political uproar in Tamil Nadu over alleged allegations of horse-trading by MLAs is deepening. The ruling Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay (Thalapathy Vijay) has accused the opposition DMK of trying to poach its MLAs and destabilize the government. On the other hand, DMK has completely rejected these allegations and has accused TVK of horse-trading.

This entire controversy has come to light after a complaint by a TVK MLA last month, in which the MLA had alleged that he was offered Rs 35 crore for cross-voting in the assembly. So far three people have been arrested in this case and the arrested people have connections with DMK leaders.

How did the whole controversy start??

In fact, on the last Monday of last month i.e. June 29, 2026, a TVK MLA N. Ilaiyaraaja filed a complaint with the police alleging that he was bribed with Rs 35 crore in exchange for cross-voting in the assembly.

He alleged that a person named Thirunavukkarasu contacted him and claimed to be a representative of the Indian Political Democratic Strategies (IPDS). He claimed that he was talking to the leaders of a major political party on their behalf. He asked me to cross-vote on a proposed resolution against the Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, in return for which I was offered Rs 35 crore.

Along with this, he also alleged that after rejecting the proposal, he was also threatened not to disclose this matter anywhere and to anyone.

Which three people were arrested?

Following the complaint of the TVK MLA, a case was registered at D-1 Triplicane police station in Chennai and the police arrested the accused Thirunavukkarasu along with Naresh and Thiagarajan from Trichy district of the state.

According to the police, investigation revealed that Naresh had met V. Ashok Kumar, brother of former DMK minister and Coimbatore South MLA V. Senthil Balaji in Chennai. It was also revealed that Thirunavukkarasu allegedly carried out the work on this case following instructions given by Senthil Balaji and Ashok Kumar.

Stalin is trying to topple the government – P. Nirmal Kumar

After the police arrested three people in this case, Tamil Nadu government minister P. Nirmal Kumar alleged that DMK was trying to bring TVK MLAs to its side for the last 40 days.

Describing this conspiracy, he said, ‘DMK Chief MK Stalin is unable to tolerate the defeat by TVK in the assembly elections and the decision given by the public and is continuously trying to topple our government.’

DMK counterattacks on TVK’s allegations

On the other hand, DMK has completely rejected all the allegations made by the ruling TVK and termed them baseless and baseless. Party spokesperson TKS Elangovan hit back and asked why would DMK try to buy one of their MLAs when it would not help us in forming the government in the state.

He further said, ‘There is some other game behind this entire action. DMK was never involved in horse-trading of TVK MLAs. Someone is lying.

Not even two months have passed since TVK chief Vijay Thalapathy formed the government in Tamil Nadu, but political turmoil continues. There was political turmoil in the state when a situation arose between TVK and DMK over horse trading. On Wednesday (June 1), both the parties accused each other of horse trading. BJP has also launched a scathing attack on Vijay Thalapathy’s party regarding horse trading.

Chennai Police on Wednesday (June 1) arrested three people in connection with an alleged conspiracy to instigate government MLAs to leave the party. These include a YouTuber and two DMK officials from Karur. This matter has increased further after the arrest. N. The case has been registered on the complaint of Ilaiyaraaja, who is a TVK MLA from Uthangarai assembly seat in Krishnagiri district.

<iframe title="Vijay Tamil Nadu CM: विजय की TVK को कैसे मिला बहुमत?
Accused of pressurizing to leave TVK

In his complaint, he alleged that repeated attempts were made to persuade him to leave the ruling party. He also claimed that YouTuber I.P.D.S. Thirunavukkarasu repeatedly contacted them, negotiated and threatened them to gain their support. Based on the complaint, Triplicane police of Chennai registered a case and arrested Thirunavukkarasu.

Conspiracy to destabilize the government – Minister Nirmal Kumar

This arrest came a day after Minister Nirmal Kumar alleged that efforts were being made to destabilize the government by luring TVK MLAs. Investigators are probing claims that three TVK MLAs were targeted and each of them was allegedly offered Rs 15 crore to switch sides.

The case has created a political stir following the arrest of two DMK functionaries considered close to former minister Senthil Balaji. Police said further investigation is underway to identify others involved in the alleged conspiracy.

Will water and blood flow together? Signatures of 61 Indians became part of Pak toolkit, why did politicians forget Pahalgam?

DMK counterattacked

On the other hand, DMK has written a letter to Governor RV Arlekar demanding an investigation against Chief Minister Thalapathy Vijay. The DMK hit back, alleging that MDMK chief Vaiko had admitted that Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay had tried to buy the two MLAs. Both MDMK MLAs, TM Rajendran from Kadayanalur and S. from Sirkazhi. Senthil Selvan has won the election from DMK’s Simbar.

BJP targeted TVK

On allegations of horse trading, Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson Narayanan Tirupati said, ‘TVK alliance is an opportunistic alliance. Be it CPIM, Congress, IUML, DMK being part of the alliance, the public rejected them all. TVK was heavily involved in horse-trading of MLAs. This is an opportunistic and corrupt alliance.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay addressed a public meeting at the grounds of St. Joseph’s College, in which he thanked the people of Tiruchirappalli East constituency for giving the mandate to his party. During this time he described himself as the ‘first servant’ of the public. He said, ‘Even now I am saying this politically that the contest is between only two parties – one DMK and the other TVK. There is no role or place for any other party among them.

Vijay described himself as the first servant of the public

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay said, ‘Today I am confident that I will continue to get your wholehearted support in all future elections. Only a few weeks have passed since I assumed office, yet those who had claimed that they would remain silent for six months could not remain silent even for six days. The public rejected both those people, who had been betraying Tamil Nadu one by one for so many years. You have chosen Vijay. You have chosen your elder and younger brother, who came to work for you. You have not made him the Chief Minister, but your first servant.

Allowed drug culture to spread everywhere: Vijay

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay says, ‘I have not come into politics to mislead people or deceive them with false promises. I have come into politics to stand with you and work for you. There is no question or ambiguity about this. DMK and many others take turns to criticize us, saying that law and order is not good. I just want to ask one thing that you call this an ideal government, but what have you actually left behind? Without leaving even a single city or street, you allowed the drug culture to spread everywhere. Today it has gone out of control.

CM Vijay angry at Stalin

He said, ‘You could have controlled it in the initial stages itself. If you had done this, would we have reached a situation where so many girls and women would have had to suffer or lose their lives? After doing all this, now they are blaming me. We will never have a hesitant attitude like Mr. Stalin. There can be no compromise on the principle of secularism. We will never give up state rights. We will never cede our rights on the river water. We will not compromise with social justice, equal justice and equality under any circumstances.

Former Tamil Nadu CM M.G. Mention of Ramachandran

In his speech, CM Vijay paid tribute to late leader and former Tamil Nadu CM M.G. Also mentioned Ramachandran, whom people fondly called MGR. Taking aim at the opposition, Vijay said, ‘They had said that even late CM MGR did not get so much vote share in his very first election. Yet today you have given such tremendous support to TVK. I am not comparing myself with MGR. MGR is MGR, but I am your Vijay, who has come to work on the path shown by MGR, Anna and Periyar.

He said, ‘Now people call me the MLA of Perambur assembly constituency. This is only as per the rules and regulations of the Election Commission, but as far as I am concerned, the people of Tiruchirappalli constituency are also very close to my heart. Vijay had resigned from Tiruchirappalli East seat to retain the Perambur Assembly seat in Chennai. Vijay had launched his statewide ‘I am Coming’ campaign from Tiruchirappalli on 13 September 2025 in view of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

For the first time in almost six decades, the Congress party is going to be a part of the Tamil Nadu cabinet. On Thursday (May 22, 2026), two MLAs of the party will take oath as ministers in the Tamil Nadu Vetri Kazhagam (TVK)-led government. The announcement was made by Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge in the state cabinet led by Chief Minister Joseph Vijay along with party MLAs S. This was done after approval was given for the inclusion of Rajesh Kumar and P. Vishwanathan.

This development is being seen as an important political change in Tamil Nadu. According to observers, this marks the beginning of a new round of power-sharing within the ruling coalition supporting the TVK government. Speaking to IANS, Congress MP Manickam Tagore said this is a historic moment for the party after such a long gap.

He said, ‘This is a very important day for the Congress and we all feel that 59 years is a very long time. Congress party has always stood for the people. We have shared power with others, we have handed over power to others and we had to wait for so many years to come to power in Tamil Nadu. This is a very important day for us.

Tamil Nadu Congress State President K. Selvaperunthagai told IANS that this swearing-in ceremony is being held on the occasion of the death anniversary of former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi. He expressed confidence that the newly inducted ministers will work in accordance with the ideals of Rajiv Gandhi.

Also read:- ‘Don’t play with fire, you will have to sacrifice cows, goats…’, Humayun Kabir warns CM Shubhendu

He said, ‘Today is the death anniversary of late Rajiv Gandhi. Following the path shown by Rajiv Gandhi, our ministers will definitely work hard for the people as well as the Congress workers. Tamil Nadu Congress in-charge Girish Chodankar said that party workers are very excited about this development. He described this as the result of the long-standing demand for representation in governance.

He told IANS, ‘Our workers are very happy and excited, because they had long desired power-sharing and respect in the government and now they have got it. We dedicate both these ministries to our party workers, because they have stood firmly by our ideology and our party in both good and bad times. Even when we had no hope of coming to power, he remained firm on his resolve.

Congress leader Thirunavukkarasar, speaking to IANS, welcomed the decision and thanked the TVK leadership for including the party in the cabinet. He said, ‘It is good, it is a welcome step. I appreciate TVK President and current CM Vijay. I thank him for making this proposal and including Congress in his cabinet. This is a good step from their side. I thank him on behalf of Congress and its workers.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader KV Thangabalu said, ‘We are very happy that Congress is joining the ministry after 59 years. In fact, in 2009, we had demanded a power-sharing arrangement, and at that time Mr. Karunanidhi had agreed, but that did not happen. Let us tell you that in Tamil Nadu, Congress has supported Joseph Vijay’s party TVK if it does not get the previous majority.

A petition was filed in the Supreme Court on Wednesday alleging corruption in winning the trust vote by Tamil Nadu Assembly chief Vijay Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) and requesting a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into the matter.

Chief Minister Vijay secured 144 votes during the voting on the confidence motion in the Assembly on May 13, while 22 votes were cast against him.

Madurai resident KK Ramesh has alleged in the petition that the voting on the trust vote in the Tamil Nadu Assembly was not conducted according to democratic principles. He claimed that TVK won 108 seats, but obtained signatures of 12 MLAs from different parties overnight.

The petition has also requested that President’s rule be imposed in Tamil Nadu until the investigation is completed.

BRICS summit 2026: The trio of India, Russia and China will be seen together again! Whatever happens in BRICS…that will be the real global power balance.

It said, “Some MLAs from other parties in the Tamil Nadu Assembly were allegedly involved in horse trading. TVK had given huge amount of money to some MLAs. There are allegations that bargains were struck and huge sums of money were distributed to them”.

The petition states, “Therefore, the Assembly should be dissolved and the matter should be handed over to the CBI for a thorough investigation.” Until the CBI investigation is completed, President’s rule should be imposed in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Cabinet Expansion: In Tamil Nadu, Congress has supported Chief Minister Vijay’s party TVK. Now party general secretary KC Venugopal has given information regarding this to the cabinet on Wednesday. He has said that two Congress MLAs in Tamil Nadu will take oath as ministers in the government cabinet on Thursday. Congress MLAs Rajesh Kumar and P. Vishwanathan will be part of the Tamil Nadu government. With these MLAs, Congress is joining the cabinet of Tamil Nadu after 59 years.

Kamal Hassan Appeal to Tamil Nadu People: Film actor and Rajya Sabha MP Kamal Haasan has given instructions regarding the new government formed in Tamil Nadu. He appealed to the people not to judge the new government too soon. Also said that the newly elected Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Vijay and his team should be given some time before evaluating them.

Makkal Needhi Maiyam Chief Hasan says that it would be premature to judge the government not after a few days of assuming office. Addressing the press, he said that whatever can be said in two days will be only related to astrology. The same applies to 6 or 15 days. Therefore we should give them six months time. Along with this he said that the entry of new people into politics should not be viewed with suspicion.

He said that the leaders who assumed power after India’s independence had also entered politics for the first time. Many new people have come into the government this time, but they should not underestimate the people. Nor should we have too much expectations from them.

Hasan said – be alert, keep an eye on the functioning of the government

Hasan has asked voters to remain alert. Keep an eye on the working of the government. It is you who have voted. One must keep an eye on what is happening and make sure that everything is going well. We are also keeping an eye. He said that even if a Tamil speaking person from Tamil Nadu starts a political party, it is only a Dravidian party.

Also read: As soon as he became the CM of Tamil Nadu, Vijay wrote a letter to PM Modi, know what he appealed for his removal.

What did Kamal Haasan say about actor Rajinikanth?

Apart from this, while mentioning his friendship with veteran actor Rajnikanth, he said that Rajnikanth had said that if I had become the Chief Minister, he would have been jealous. But he said all this jokingly. Neither of us ever felt jealous towards each other. We definitely compete with each other, but we don’t have any feelings of jealousy. We are the best players that Tamil Nadu has got. It’s just that we are in the film industry. Even if we were playing cricket, we would still be like this.

Let us tell you that in the recent Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, actor Vijay’s party TVK emerged as the largest party in the state. With this, the dominance of DMK and AIADMK, which had been going on for decades in the state, ended. Vijay has formed the government with Congress, Communist, VCK and IUML.

Madhar Badruddin (VMS Mustafa), MLA of the ruling Tamil Nadu Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), created a controversy on Thursday by supporting the statement given by Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Udhayanidhi Stalin on Sanatan Dharma. However, after all-round criticism he withdrew his statement.

Responding to this controversy, Tamil Nadu Minister Aadhav Arjun said that TVK is not against any religion, but opposes inequality.

Arjun said, “Udayanidhi Stalin has no knowledge of Sanatana Dharma. Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam is against the caste system and religious systems. We consider all religions equal. As a minister and under the leadership of our leader (Chief Minister Vijay), we respect all religions”.

Also read: As soon as he became the CM of Tamil Nadu, Vijay wrote a letter to PM Modi, know what he appealed for his removal.

He said that TVK opposes the caste system, not Hinduism.

Arjun clarified, “We are not against Hindus, but against Hindutva. In the North, Sanatan Dharma is often understood as Hinduism, while in the South it is associated with inequality. We believe that all religions should be treated equally and we are not against any religion”.

He said that Udhayanidhi was also against the caste system.

Madurai Central MLA Badruddin had commented, “We are also in the field to destroy Sanatan Dharma”.

The TVK MLA, however, issued a clarification after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders criticized him and the Joseph C Vijay-led government.

BJP chief spokesperson Narayanan Tirupati alleged that a Muslim person, especially an elected representative, saying derogatory things about Hindu religion and announcing its abolition would seriously harm religious harmony.

Tirupathi asked in a post on ‘X’, “Will Mustafa, who criticizes Sanatan Dharma, dare to criticize the Islamic faith? Will he come forward to criticize Christianity?

The BJP leader said that the belief that one has the right to say anything just because one is in power shows arrogance.

He said, “Chief Minister Vijay has not yet condemned Udhayanidhi Stalin’s speech on Sanatan Dharma in the Assembly or the comments of TVK MLA Mustafa. For a Chief Minister who claims to represent all the people, it is not befitting his high position to not condemn criticism of the lifestyle of the majority community.

Tirupati said that Sanatan Dharma is “alive and eternal”. He said, “No one has destroyed or erased it in the past, nor is any person living today capable of doing so, nor will anyone born in the future be able to destroy it.”

Mustafa, when asked by reporters in Madurai on May 12 about TVK’s chances of winning the confidence motion in the assembly, had said that the party would be victorious.

When asked about Udhayanidhi Stalin’s comments regarding abolition of Sanatana Dharma, Mustafa said, “We in TVK are friends with Periyar E.V. Ramasamy and B.R. We follow the ideologies of Ambedkar, and we oppose Sanatan Dharma.

Mustafa clarified in a post on ‘X’ on Thursday that “we are not against any religion”.

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, during his address in the Assembly on May 12, reiterated his earlier controversial statement that Sanatan Dharma should be abolished.

BJP leader Vinod P Selvam demanded that Vijay should sack Mustafa to prove that he stands for secular values.
