The Commission has also made it clear this time that such institutes have no right to grant degrees and the degrees recognized from here will not be valid for higher education or employment. According to the UGC Act 1956, only those institutes which are established under Central, State or Provincial law or which have got the status of Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the Act can confer degrees.
