UGC NET registration window is about to close, NTA issued special advisory for students

NTA has advised the candidates to fill all the information while applying as no corrections can be made after the form is submitted. The application will be considered complete only when the candidate successfully pays the prescribed fee. After submitting the form, it is important to download the confirmation page and keep it safe, so that it can be used in any future situation.

Announcing the exam dates, NTA has said that the UGC NET December 2025 exam will be conducted from 31 December 2025 to 7 January 2026. Examination city information (city slip) will be made available for download 10 days before the examination and admit card 4 days before the examination.

This examination will be held in the form of Computer Based Test (CBT) at various centers across the country. UGC NET exam is conducted to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in universities and colleges.

NTA has warned the candidates to avoid any fake website or rumor and apply only by visiting the official website. Before applying, candidates have been advised to read all the rules and instructions carefully, so that their application does not get rejected due to any mistake. Candidates who face any problem in the application process can get assistance through NTA helpline or email.

Candidates can easily fill the UGC NET application form sitting at home. For this, they will first have to go to NTA website ugcnet.nta.ac.in and click on ‘Registration for UGC-NET DEC 2025’.

Then you will have to register, fill the information related to the form, upload photograph and signature, and finally pay the fee online. Detailed guidelines and information brochure regarding the application process has also been issued by NTA.

UGC NET December 2025 exam dates announced, apply online easily this way

National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the exam dates for UGC NET December 2025 session. According to official information, this examination will be conducted from December 31, 2025 to January 7, 2026. It will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode at examination centers across the country.

UGC-NET is the country’s premier national level examination, which determines eligibility for becoming Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. Apart from this, this examination is also considered necessary for admission to PhD programs and fellowships from various ministries.

When will I get the City Information Slip?

NTA said that the city information slip will be made available to the candidates on the official website 10 days before the examination. Candidates are advised to regularly keep an eye on the NTA website for all updates related to the examination.

Application process started

The application process for UGC NET December 2025 is still open. Interested candidates can apply online. The last date to apply and deposit fees is November 7, 2025, 11:50 pm. Candidates can apply through the option of “Online Application” by visiting the official website of NTA ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

There will be two papers in UGC NET exam. The duration of each paper is 180 minutes and there will be no break between papers. Both the papers will be computer based, in which questions will have to be answered online.
