Important dates of UGC NET 2026

The application process for UGC NET June 2026 exam has started from 29 April 2026 and candidates can fill the form till 20 May 2026. If any mistake is made while applying, then the correction window will be open from 22 May to 24 May 2026 to correct it. After this, before the examination, candidates will get information about their examination city by June 10, 2026, and admit cards will be issued by June 15, 2026.
UGC NET 2026 Exam Pattern
The pattern of UGC NET June 2026 exam is quite easy and clear. This examination will be conducted completely in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. There will be a total of 2 papers and MCQs will be asked in both. The special thing is that both the papers will be held simultaneously, that is, no break will be given between them. Candidates will get total time of 3 hours to complete the entire examination.

While applying for UGC NET June 2026, candidates will have to deposit the fee as per their category. The fee for General category is Rs 1150, while OBC-NCL and EWS category candidates will have to pay Rs 600. Whereas for third gender candidates the application fee has been fixed at Rs 325. This fee can be paid only through online mode, like debit card, credit card, UPI or net banking.

A big update has come out for the candidates preparing for UGC NET exam or entrance exam. National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit card or hall ticket for the entrance exam to be held on 31 December 2025 on its official website. Candidates can download their admit card by visiting the National Testing Agency’s website ugcnet.nta.nic.in and entering their important information like application number and date of birth.

Complete information about UGC NET exam

UGC NET examination will start from 31 December 2025 and will be held till 7 January 2026. Under this examination, candidates become eligible to become Assistant Professor in Indian universities and if a candidate passes this examination with good marks, then the candidate gets Research and Fellowship (JRF), through which he can pursue his PhD and the government also provides scholarship to do research.

This examination of UGC NET will be conducted completely in computer based i.e. CBT mode. It is worth noting that currently the admit card has been issued only for the examination to be held on 31 December 2025, the admit card for the examination to be held on the remaining days will be issued 3 to 4 days before the day of the examination. The pattern of UGC NET entrance exam is divided into two parts. A total of 150 multiple choice questions (MCQs) will be asked from the candidates and it is mandatory to answer all the questions. Candidates will be given 3 hours to answer all the questions and the entrance exam will be of 300 marks.

How to download admit card?

• Candidates should visit the official website of UGC NET at ugcnet.nta.nic.in to download their admit card.
• Then you will see ‘Latest News’ section on the homepage, inside which you will see the link of ‘Admit Card Download’.
• After clicking on the link, enter your required information, in which your application number and date of birth will have to be entered.
• After you fill your information, press the login button and your admit card will appear in front of you, which you can download.
