Britain, Canada and Australia on Sunday announced the official status of Palestine to Palestine. This step is believed to be reversed against Israel and US policy. The three countries said that this decision has been taken to end the Gaza war and to awaken the hope of two-nation solution.

The British Prime Minister Keyer Stmper wrote on X, “Today we formally recognize the nation of Palestine to keep the hope of peace between Palestinians and Israelis alive.” Britain’s deputy PM David Lammy said that the recognition would not make Palestine an overnight nation, but it is a step to keep the possibility of two-nation solution alive.

Canada and Australia also together
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also issued a similar statement to recognize Palestine. The two countries said that this step has been taken for ending the Gaza struggle and for permanent peace.

America-Israel’s strong objection
America and Israel opposed this decision and described it as rewarding Hamas and terrorism. Israel has been opposing two-nation solutions continuously and is increasing settlements in the West Bank, which is considered to be the land of the future Palestinian nation.

What is history?
Britain has a deep historical relationship with Palestine. The Belfor declaration of 1917 supported the motherland for the Jews, but the rights of the Palestinians were largely ignored. Hussam Zamalot, head of Palestinian Mission, said, “Today is the day to end the refusal of our existence. It is a moment to improve history.”

So far, more than 145 countries have recognized Palestine. But this step of member countries of G-7 and UN Security Council like Britain, Canada and Australia is considered very important.
