Security forces in Manipur have carried out a major action on Saturday (April 11, 2026). Security forces have destroyed 21 bunkers built in Ukhrul district of the state. Besides, security forces have also seized 13 Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) from Tengnoupal district.

An official statement said that on Saturday (April 11, 2026), 14 bunkers were destroyed in Sikibung village and seven in Mongkot Chepu, both of which fall under the jurisdiction of Litan police station. The departmental statement further said that all these bunkers were built illegally by armed miscreants. In another operation, security forces also recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from Moreh area of ​​Tengnoupal district on Saturday (April 11, 2026).

According to the report of news agency PTI, recently a BSF constable resident of West Bengal died. This incident happened when the soldier was on duty near Mongkot Chepu village and during this time a bullet fired from an unknown direction hit the BSF constable and the constable died. The statement said that during the operation by the security forces, two combat uniforms and 13 IEDs along with 9 mm pistol magazines were recovered and all of them were defused on the spot.

Whereas in a separate incident, on April 7, 2026, a five-year-old child and his six-month-old sister were killed when suspected militants hurled a bomb at a house in Tronglaobi in Bishnupur district of Manipur. Soon after the incident, a mob of about 500 protesters stormed a CRPF camp near Gelmol, a few hundred meters away from Tronglaobi, and indulged in vandalism as well as setting security vehicles on fire. After this, three protesters were killed in the firing by the security forces, while 30 people were injured.

Police have arrested three suspected members of the United Kuki National Army in operations conducted after the Tronglaobi incident. However, the police have not yet confirmed whether the arrested people were directly linked to the blast or not.
