Big action by Uttar Pradesh Police is coming to the fore. Police have recovered cash worth more than Rs 10 crore from the premises of BSP MLA Umashankar Singh. The action is still going on against the people close to Umashankar Singh. Considering the health of Umashankar Singh, the action at the residence was ended on the very first day.

According to information, maximum cash has been recovered from the office of Umashankar Singh’s company Chhatra Shakti Infraconstruction Limited. A large number of documents have also been seized from those close to Umashankar. Meanwhile, mining businessmen of Ballia, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra are also being interrogated.

Clues of tampering of documents

Umashankar Singh has a big stake in government contracts for mining and road construction. According to sources, clues of financial manipulation have also been found in the documents. The Income Tax Department on Wednesday raided the residences of Uma Shankar Singh, the lone Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, in Lucknow and Ballia.

However, no information was given about the reasons for the raid or its results till Wednesday afternoon. Singh (55) represents Rasra assembly constituency of Ballia district. He is a three-time MLA and was earlier associated with the construction business.

Umashankar Singh has been ill for many days

BSP MLA Umashankar has been ill for a long time. Several months ago, BSP chief Mayawati had also gone to his house in the capital to inquire about his well-being. Regarding this raid, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati said that ever since Umashankar Singh has joined the party. He has fulfilled his responsibility with complete honesty and devotion.

The BSP supremo said that till date no complaint has been received from his area about him acquiring property illegally or doing any other wrongdoing. We are not interfering in the work of this department, but the way action has been taken today during this very serious illness, is very unfortunate and against humanity.
