During the monsoon session of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly in Bhopal, on today (July 29), Congress MLAs performed a unique demonstration which is now in discussion. Angered over the problems of the farmers, the opposition made two MLAs a symbolic buffalo and opposed the ‘unheard’ of the government by playing bean in front of them.

During this, Assembly Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar was also present. He said, “The government is now behaving like a buffalo which neither hears nor responds.”

On which issues did Congress demonstrate?

The Congress has targeted the government for lack of fertilizer, agricultural scams and farmers’ problems. Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar said, “The government has become completely insensitive. We are playing the bean, but the government is sitting silently.” During the protest, two MLAs were standing like a buffalo in the assembly premises and the bean was played in front of them.

Government silence on serious issue being raised by the opposition – Umang Singhar

Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar said through his social media post, “The government has now become completely insensitive. Just as if the bean is played in front of the buffalo, it neither listens nor reacts, in the same way the BJP government is also ‘silent’ on the serious and public interest being raised by the opposition.”

PM modi bhopal visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to address the ‘Rogal Shakti Sammelan’ in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh on 31 May, in which the presence of about two lakh women is estimated.

Before this much awaited visit, the Congress has prepared to surround the Prime Minister. Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Umang Singhar has issued a press statement and has asked ten important questions to PM Modi. These questions are related to the daily issues of the people of the country and the state.

1. Travel from inflation witch to good days – burden for public?

Umang Singhar reminded that in 2014, Modi called inflation a “witch”, but today’s situation is worse than that. He questioned that when the prices of flour, pulses, gas, electricity and medicines are out of the reach of the common man, are this good days?

2. Where did the promise of 2 crore jobs go every year?

Raising the issue of unemployment, the Leader of Opposition said that youth are wandering for employment in the country and especially Madhya Pradesh. Singhar asked, “Was the promise made to the youth an election jumla?”

3. Politics and insult in the name of army

Singhar alleged that PM Modi uses the might of the army in political campaigning, while his own ministers insult the bravery of the army. He asked if there was any action against such ministers?

4. Farmers’ income is not doubled, crops are being sold in losses

He reminded that the government had promised to double the income of farmers by 2022, but today farmers are forced to sell their produce at less than the cost price. This promise has been proved to be false, Singhar is accused of false.

5. Schools without teachers and facilities

Thousands of schools in Madhya Pradesh have neither teachers, nor toilets, nor electricity nor drinking water. Sinhas questioned whether education was not the priority of the government?

6. Atrocities on Dalits and tribals increase – Why not implemented the PESA Act?

He questioned the government’s intention of not implementing the PESA Act, citing increasing atrocities on Dalit and tribal communities in the state.

7. Hole claim zero tolerance on corruption?

Singhar, while referring to transport, nursing, PM housing and water life mission scams in the state, asked why the culprits have not been punished in these scams yet?

8. Ujjwala Yojana: Cylinder is found, but no money for filling

Umang Singhar said that the free cylinders given under the Ujjwala scheme are eating dust in the homes of the poor because they are not able to refill them. Has this scheme remain just a medium of publicity?

9. Demonetisation and GST to MSME sector heavy losses

The Leader of Opposition said that decisions like demonetisation and GST caused a deep setback to the country’s economy, especially the MSME sector. Did the government ignore the economic spine?

10. Freedom of constitutional institutions in danger?

The Leader of Opposition made serious allegations and said that constitutional institutions like the judiciary, media and Election Commission are under government influence. Is this weakening the country’s democracy?

Saurabh sharma case: The story of Saurabh Sharma, a soldier of the transport department of Madhya Pradesh, exposed in December last year, shocked the whole country. After the disclosure of assets like 52 kg of gold, two and a half quintals of silver and crores of rupees cash, the kind of action that the public and society had, have not been fulfilled till date. Despite the presence of four top investigative agencies, this case hangs in the balance even after five months.

Congress and BJP face to face

Congress Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar has accused the government that it is deliberately wandering the case and saving the real culprits. He says, “Even after such a huge seizure, if there is no result, then it is clear that the investigating agencies are working under pressure.”

At the same time, BJP spokesperson Ajay Yadav retaliated on the Congress, saying, “If the Congress has any evidence, they should hand over to the investigating agencies. The opposition is only doing politics.”

Former police officer raised questions

Former IPS officer Vijay Vate also reacted to the case, saying, “When a multi agency is investigated, the accountability is often distributed.” He said, “In such cases many times political pressure also affects the investigation. If no charge sheet comes in 5 months, the question is bound to arise.”

Questions that still did not get the answer

2. Is Saurabh Sharma really the focal point of this entire racket or just a pawn?
3. Where are the diaries and documents that were said to have big names?

4. Is this case being weakened by entangling in legal stalks?

Case is in court, but charge sheet incomplete, action in balance

Saurabh Sharma has got bail in the Lokayukta case, but he is still in jail in the case of other agencies. Chetan Gaur and Sharad Jaiswal are also in judicial custody. It was being said that the diary related to the case includes the names of many big officials and leaders, but till now no ‘big fish’ has been caught.

Gold recovered from unclaimed car found in forest

On 19 December 2024, the Lokayukta police raided the house of soldier Saurabh Sharma in Arera Colony, Bhopal on charges of disproportionate assets. The same night, 52 kg of gold and crores of cash were recovered from an unclaimed car in Mandori forests near Bhopal. After this, Saurabh Sharma, his companions Chetan Gaur and Sharad Jaiswal were arrested. In the raid, information about about two and a half quintals of silver, documents of several land, bank passbook and suspicious transactions were revealed.

In addition to the Lokayukta, the ED (Enforcement Directorate), Income Tax Department and the State Police are investigating this high-profile case, but even after five months, neither the name of any big influence was revealed, nor the agencies have been able to present the matter in a concrete manner in the court.

The Lokayukta, who had first raided, has not been able to file a charge sheet yet. The ED and Income Tax Department allegedly tried to investigate the fund trail, but have failed to prove the real source of black earnings and the ownership of gold and silver.

MP Politics: A delegation of Congress MLAs led by Madhya Pradesh Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar met the Director General of Income Tax Department and demanded an inquiry into the transport scam including Minister Govind Rajput. In this case, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar also handed over documents of benami property worth thousands of crores to Minister Govind Rajput and his colleagues to the Director General.

Leader of Opposition and Congress MLAs also submitted a memorandum to the Director General, in which Govind Singh Rajput Minister Madhya Pradesh government demanded corruption in the post of public servant and demanded that hundreds of acres of land in the name of their families, relatives and others to buy illegal transactions and to investigate the property and attach the property.

While talking to media persons, Umang Singhar also showed symbolic biscuits of gold and said that only small fish are being caught in the transport scam. A soldier is arrested, but there are big crocodiles who have made illegal assets worth thousands of crores, who were reaching the money. They do not take action. He said that this government is promoting corruption, so we have earlier complained to Lokayukta, EOW and now in Income Tax Department.

The Leader of Opposition said that we congratulated the Income Tax Department on the seizure of gold and money and also demanded to disclose all the big names including fair investigation in this matter, on which the Director General has assured to investigate. He said that the documents of the property of the property of all the people involved in the transport scam and the property hidden in the election affidavit have also been handed over to the Income Tax Department and demanded a fair inquiry.

The Leader of Opposition said that he hopes that the Income Tax Department will bring out whose gold bricks are in view of the public interest. He further said that this is the earnings of the people and the Congress party will not let any minister and officer eat it. He asked the government how the transport department whose budget is 150-200 crores was taking a scam of 5000 crores. Earlier, Umang Singar has met Lokayukta and EOW to investigate the case.
