Student activist Umar Khalid, who was lodged in Tihar Jail for 6 years, gave an interview. In this he expressed his views on the recent politics of the country. Also said that humanity is a privilege. But people like me do not get this right.

Khalid’s target was the current BJP government. In this he targeted the Narendra Modi led NDA government and accused them of spreading hatred and fake information. During this time, regarding his health, he said that my humanity and my mental balance have been snatched away.

Khalid’s first interview from jail, he said – my identity has been destroyed

Khalid has said all these things in his first interview from jail given to The Guardian. He said through his family and friends that even the people with whom you eat food call you terrorists behind your back. His identity as a human being has been destroyed.

Khalid said that if you are limited to positive or negative images, then it becomes difficult to maintain mental health. In fact, recently Delhi court issued a notice to Delhi Police regarding Khalid’s bail. The date of July 4 has been fixed for his arguments in Karkardooma Court.

Khalid said- I am also a human being, I too have sorrows and problems.

Khalid said that people who think in your best interest also exaggerate your image, but they forget that I am also a human being. I too have sorrows and troubles. I too have fears. There are flaws. Actually, he said that due to being in jail, he not only had to face mental torture, but it also had a bad effect on his body.

Indian society has become accustomed to living beyond the truth.

Khalid said that Indian society has moved towards becoming a post-truth i.e. beyond the truth. Besides, Khalid has also raised questions on the silence of civil society. Khalid has admitted that he feels very disappointed and lonely.

Khalid was arrested under UAPA in 2020

Let us tell you, Khalid was arrested under UAPA in September 2020. He was accused of being the main conspirator in the Delhi riots and conspiring to violently change power. However, he denies any such allegations. Here, BJP says that India’s judicial system is independent. This has nothing to do with politics.
