After the re -implementation of international sanctions, Iran announced on Sunday (October 05) that its cooperation with the United Nations Atomic Monitoring Agency (IAA) has now become irrelevant. External Affairs Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the Cairo Agreement, which was held in September, cannot continue under the current circumstances.

Araghchi said that the re -activism of Snapback Sanctions and recent military tension have completely changed the situation. He said, “The Cairo Agreement is no longer relevant to our cooperation with IAEA.”

Iran’s charge on Western countries

The Iranian Foreign Minister accused Western countries of unfair demands and threatening-based diplomacy. He said that the policies of pressure like military action and economic restrictions do not make any agreement easier, but make the conversation more difficult.

Araghchi said that Iran has always shown transparency in the conversation. Even in indirect talks with the US, but western countries ignored their proposals. He said, “If our proposals had been taken seriously and the path of diplomacy had not been closed, it was not impossible to reach an agreement.”

“Europe’s role in future conversation will reduce”

Araghchi indicated that Iran is still ready for dialogue, but the format and participants of the conversation will change in the coming time. He said that the role of European countries will be less in future talks.

He also added that the decision to abolish the current cooperation structure with IAEA has been taken due to security threats and recent attacks on nuclear sites.

Iran’s claim- ‘Our nuclear program is peaceful’

Iran once again reiterated that her nuclear program is completely peaceful. Araghchi said, “We have taken every diplomatic path to prove our goodwill and peaceful intentions. Now Western countries have no justification for refusing to negotiate.” He insisted that Iran is ready to restore faith, but only when the other side also shows honesty.

Iran’s President Masood Pipeskian said in an interview to Fox News on Thursday (September 25) that who will guarantee us that Israel will not attack our nuclear bases? Tehran warned that western countries would have to bear the responsibility of this. Poraskian said that despite these sanctions, Iran will not come out of NPT (nuclear non -proliferation treaty).

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in UNGA that the world should not allow Iran to re -erect nuclear and military programs. He along with the US indicated to increase pressure on Iran. In June 2025, Israel and the US also carried out air strikes on Iran’s nuclear bases.

Iran’s argument NPT right

Iran says that it has as much right to promote uranium as it is to all member countries of NPT. The condition is that technology should be used only for peaceful energy production. At the same time, Israel is not a member of NPT and it is believed that it is the only country in the middle East which has nuclear weapons.

Increased stress and global impact

Iran’s economy is already struggling with American and Western sanctions. If the new UN restrictions are strictly applicable, Tehran can adopt a more aggressive stance. On the other hand, Israel’s strong opposition and America’s support can push the issue towards a big confrontation in the Middle East.

Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei informed that the country has achieved advanced levels in Uranium Enrichment. Khameni said that while some countries promote Uranium up to 90% for the purpose of making nuclear weapons, Iran has limited it to only 60%. He clarified that Iran does not need nuclear weapons and his intention is never to make such weapons. This statement by Khameni sent a message that Iran is furthering its nuclear program for peaceful purposes.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Tuesday termed any kind of conversation with the US as ‘waste and harmful’ for the country. He said that in the present situation, talks with America will be against Iran’s interests and it will prove to be ‘dead-end’. Khamenei clarified that Iran does not need nuclear weapons and has no intention of producing them.

In his recorded message, he said that Iran will not bow before any external pressure, especially in terms of uranium enrichment. Khamenei said that the US wants Iran to leave its missile program, which includes moderate -distance missiles. He said, “Composing under pressure will be like surrender, and no respectable nation will accept it.”
