Girls Dropped Out Rate India : Even today, there are millions of children in India who leave school midway due to financial constraints, domestic responsibilities and social problems. The most worrying thing about this is that a large number of girls are leaving school. In many cases, weak financial condition of the family, household work, responsibilities at a young age and difficulty in accessing school are becoming the reasons for stopping their education. According to reports, between 2022-23 and 2023-24, lakhs of children left school at primary and upper primary levels across the country. Among them, the number of boys is more, but in many states the situation of girls dropping out of education remains very worrying. In such a situation, let us know how many girls are leaving studies every year due to lack of money and which state has the highest number.

In which states are most children leaving studies?

According to the report, Bihar tops the states with highest dropouts in the country. More than 27 lakh children left school here. After this, names of states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Assam have emerged. The states with highest dropouts include Bihar 27.69 lakh, Rajasthan 8.99 lakh, Uttar Pradesh 7.41 lakh, Madhya Pradesh 3.37 lakh and Assam 3.58 lakh. The economic situation in these states, problems in rural areas and limited access to education are being considered as the major reasons.

How many girls are leaving studies every year due to lack of money?

A survey by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) revealed that a large number of girls are missing out on education due to household chores. According to the report, about 33 percent girls were forced to leave school due to household work. In many places girls have to take care of younger brothers and sisters. At the same time, some families, due to financial compulsion, send their girls to work as laborers or to work in homes. In rural areas, early marriage is also considered a major reason for stopping girls’ education.

Which state has the highest number?

In Uttar Pradesh, the dropout percentage of girls at primary and upper primary levels was higher than that of boys. Especially between classes 6 to 8, a large number of girls are leaving studies. Apart from this, in Rajasthan and some other states also, the dropout rate was found to be higher among girls from Muslim and tribal communities.

Also read – How much oil can a petrol pump sell in a day, does it also have a quota?

Which states performed better?

Some states also showed better situation in the report. In which the dropout figures in states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal have been reported to be very low or zero, although experts say that there may be a need to re-examine these figures, yet the effect of education system, awareness and government schemes in these states is considered to be better.

What suggestions has the government given?

The central government has advised states with high dropouts to take special steps. Under this, emphasis is being laid on steps like regular monitoring of children in schools, financial assistance to poor students, special schemes for girls, better school facilities in rural areas and rejoining dropout children back to school.

Iran Israel US War Children Casualties: The increasing war in West Asia is affecting children the most. The United Nations Children’s Agency has warned that the lives of millions of children are in danger due to increasing violence. Meanwhile, while talking about peace, the President of Iran has also put forward some conditions to end the war.

UNICEF has said that the situation of children across West Asia has become very serious due to the increasing conflict between America, Israel and Iran. According to the agency, since February 28 till now, more than one thousand one hundred children have been injured or died in the violence. Of these, about two hundred children have died in Iran. Ninety-one children have died in Lebanon. Apart from this, four children died in Israel and one child died in Kuwait.

If violence increases, the figures may increase further.

UNICEF has warned that if violence continues like this, the number of children killed and injured may increase further. The organization also said that due to this crisis lakhs of children are not able to go to school. Due to continuous bombing, lakhs of families have had to leave their homes and hundreds of thousands of children have become homeless. UNICEF said that killing or injuring children cannot be justified under any circumstances. The organization also said that it is wrong to destroy or disrupt essential services for children. According to UNICEF there are approximately 200 million children across the region and they are hoping the world will take action soon.

Iran talked about peace

Meanwhile, Masoud Pejeshkian has said that Tehran is committed to peace. He said that three conditions are necessary to end the war. According to him, this war has started because of Jewish rule and America and to end it, it is necessary to recognize the rights of Iran.

Conversation with leaders of Russia and Pakistan

President Pezeshkian said in a message on the social media platform X that he had spoken to the leaders of Russia and Pakistan. He said that in this conversation he reiterated Iran’s commitment to peace in the region. Pejeshkian further said that the only way to end this conflict is to recognize Iran’s legal rights, provide compensation for the damage caused, and provide firm international guarantees to prevent future attacks.

Unicef Report on Child Obsity: For the first time in the world, the problem of obesity is increasing instead of lean in children. UNICEF’s new report warns that ultra processed junk food is dominating the food of children, causing their health and development in serious threat. According to the report, about 188 million in the world, one in every 10 children is obese.

Katherine Russell, executive director of UNICEF, said about the report that when we talk about malnutrition, now not only lean children but also the children struggling with obesity will have to be worried. Junk food is now replacing fruits, vegetables and protein. Whereas for the physical and mental development of children, proper nutrition is very important.

Obesity replaced malnutrition

The report suggests that 9.2 children between 5 and 19 years are lean, while 9.4 copy children are obese. In the year 2000, where about 13% of the children were lean and only three percent were thick, the situation has reversed. Obesity has now become a bigger threat than malnutrition in all areas.

Which countries are the worst in which countries

Pacific Iceland- Neeu and Cook Iceland have the highest obesity rate among children aged 5 to 19 years.

Chile, America and UAE-The situation is also serious in these three rich countries. Among these countries, Chile has a rate of 27 percent of Chile, in the US and in the UAE 21 percent obesity.

Britain- In the year 2000 in Britain, the rate of obesity in children was 9 perfects, which has now increased to 11 copies in 2022.

Kenya- In Kenya, in the last 20 years, the number of thick girls has doubled to 13 replica.

South Africa- In South Africa, one in every 8 children are struggling with obesity while one in every four children are victims of stunting.

Big impact on children’s health

UNICEF reports suggest that obesity is increasing the risk of heart diseases, diabetes and cancer in children. Ultra processed food -like packets, sweet drinks, biscuits, cakes and ready -to -eat meals dominate the children’s diet. These foods contain high amount of sugar fat and salt and they pass through industrial process. This report warns that the schools and markets are full of junk food and their marketing on digital platforms is targeting children and parents. UNICEF has appealed to the governments to impose labeling and tax on junk food. Apart from this, their sales and advertisements should be banned in schools and better plans should be made to give healthy diet to poor families. In this report, Mexico’s move has also been praised where the sale and distribution of junk food has been banned in the school.
