Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Friday that in the Samajwadi Party (SP) government, big announcements were made but there was no result.
On the last day of the budget session in the Assembly, Yogi, while enumerating the achievements of his government in nine years, said, “We have not only made announcements but have also implemented them on the ground.”

He said, “Our government has played a big role in changing the perception of the state. We have encouraged the people of the state so that they can go to the country and abroad and say with pride that they are citizens of Uttar Pradesh, which has the largest population.” CM Yogi alleged, “Socialist pension was available only to the socialist cadre but we do not discriminate against anyone. We treat everyone equally.”

The Chief Minister said that the state has signed an MoU with IIT Kanpur to set up a ‘Center of Excellence’ and has made a provision of Rs 100 crore for the launch of the Robotics Mission. CM Yogi made a big announcement for the youth of the state in the field of artificial intelligence and said that the government will work to provide AI version to 25 lakh youth for free. He said that the government will work to make the youth proficient in robotics, drone training, AI, data science and machine learning.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is making efforts towards more than 50 percent urbanization. He said that Lucknow and its adjoining districts are being established as ‘State Capital Region’ and will be developed as City Economic Zone. CM Yogi said that the second zone will be developed from Kashi to Vindhyachal and it includes Chandauli, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Bhadohi, Sonbhadra and Mirzapur.

He said that it will be made an economic zone. The Chief Minister said that the government has made extensive provisions in the livestock, fisheries, environmental protection and cooperative sectors. He clarified that to strengthen the rural economy, along with agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries sector is also being given equal importance. CM Yogi said that a provision of Rs 2000 crore has been made in the budget for the maintenance of destitute cattle. He said that along with this, the government will also take concrete steps towards breed improvement so that the quality of milk production and livestock can increase.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati said on Monday that it would have been better if the Uttar Pradesh Governor’s speech had gone away from tradition and been genuine and a little enthusiastic in the broader public interest, including the development of the state and the upliftment of the entire society.

Mayawati wrote on ‘X’, “The budget session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly started today with the parliamentary tradition of the Governor addressing the joint session of the Legislature, but it would have been better if his speech, moving away from tradition, had been genuine and a little enthusiastic in the broader public interest, including the development of the state and the upliftment of the entire society.”

He said, “In fact, crores of people from all sections of society across Uttar Pradesh are suffering from the wrong policies and activities of the government.” They are facing many types of difficult family difficulties due to poverty and unemployment etc. But most of all they are worried about their life, property and religion, towards which the Governor should have drawn the attention of the government so that the people of the state as well as the opposition get some reassurance. Due to this not happening, opposition slogans continued to be raised during the Governor’s address and there was ruckus.

BSP said that the lack of details in the Governor’s address about fulfilling the big claims, assurances, announcements and promises etc. related to public interest and public welfare of the BJP government is worrying for the people, which would be appropriate to be adjusted in the upcoming budget speech. Addressing the joint meeting of both houses of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature on the first day of the budget session, Governor Anandiben Patel highlighted the achievements of the Yogi Adityanath government. Members of the main opposition Samajwadi Party protested inside and outside the assembly on various issues.
