The Uttar Pradesh government has reviewed the preparations for the board examinations of 2026. Keeping in view the high school and intermediate examinations starting from February 18, the officials have given instructions to complete the security arrangements and other necessary arrangements on time. This year, the 10th and 12th examinations will be conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council from 18 February to 12 March. The examinations will be conducted in two shifts in the entire state.

Exam Timings and Schedule

According to the official notification, the first shift examination will run from 8:30 am to 11:45 am. Whereas the second inning will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm. Class 10 exam will start with Hindi subject, after which there will be computer paper. At the same time, an online meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma to review the preparations. Senior officials of the education department, directors and board secretaries were also involved. In the meeting, instructions were given to regularly inspect the command and control rooms set up at the district level and to inspect the examination centres. Officials say that adequate furniture, clean toilet water and electricity should be ensured at the centres.

Strict security even at examination centers

The government has made it mandatory to deploy armed police forces at the control rooms of all examination centres. District school inspectors have been instructed to ensure that information about employees involved in examination duties is entered correctly in the control room and all arrangements are completed on time. Instructions have also been given to thoroughly verify the inspectors posted in the rooms and their identity cards. Flying squads have been asked to keep special vigil at sensitive centres, so that any kind of disturbance can be prevented.

Security of question papers and answer sheets

The Board Secretary has also given instructions to increase the security of the rooms where question papers and answer sheets are kept. Also, it has been asked to take immediate legal action on social media rumors related to examinations. After the completion of the examination, instructions have also been issued to safely transport the answer sheets to the designated centres.

Board advice for students

The board has advised students to focus only on revision in the last days. There is talk of solving model papers, revising notes and clearing doubts from teachers. It is also advised not to start new subjects at the last moment, maintain regular routine, get adequate sleep and have a balanced diet. According to the board, students will have to reach the examination centers on time and students arriving late will not be allowed inside. Apart from this, important centers will be monitored through CCTV cameras. The board has also said that students should stay away from stress and focus on their preparation instead of comparing themselves with others. If needed, students can talk to parents or teachers. Apart from this, 24-hour helpline 14416 and 800-891-4416 are also available for assistance.
