On Thursday, the ninth day of the budget session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, there was a fierce altercation between the party and the opposition in the House. Samajwadi Party MLA Shivpal Singh Yadav cornered the government on the issue of farmers and irrigation and raised the issue of lack of DAP.

While presenting his views in the UP Assembly, Agriculture Minister of UP Government Surya Pratap Shahi cornered the SP government by asking questions regarding the shortage of DAP. Shivpal Yadav angry at Agriculture Minister’s answer

The Agriculture Minister said that when the government was in power, the farmers did not get seeds and they were left to the mercy of God. Shivpal Singh got angry at his answer and expressed his objection by saying, “Have you brought the budget from your home?”

Shivpal said, “They are even saying that the budget has been increased so much, have you brought the budget to your home? There is public money in the budget. There are taxes. How much the state has been looted in GST. They keep praising it.”

Government cornered on farmers and irrigation issues

Shivpal Yadav also raised questions on Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh on the issue of irrigation in the House and asked for grants for agriculture, irrigation and urban development and asked whether you bring money from your home for the schemes?

Actually, Shivpal Yadav was discussing the proposal of reduction in the grant demands of Jal Shakti Department in the House. Shivpal Yadav said that I had called you and asked you to open the water in the canals but there was no water and when I called the officer, the work could be done. He also appealed to the minister to take strict action against the officers.

He said, “Whatever happens, no one can insult Vande Mataram in any program of the Bharatiya Janata Party.” Similarly, the Congress should bluntly say that the person who opposes Vande Mataram should be thrown out by holding his ears and pushing him. Samajwadi Party should also declare that whoever opposes Vande Mataram should go to the place where it is opposed, at least not here in India.

He further said, “It should not get any right to live on Indian soil. The national anthem is completing 150 years.”

Allegation of opposition to Ram Temple, Kashi Vishwanath

Accusing the opposition of appeasement, Adityanath said that the opposition parties opposed the development of Ram Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Dham and Mathura-Vrindavan. He said that the height of appeasement was that the celebration of Janmashtami festival was stopped in police stations and jails. According to ANI, he accused SP and said that they used to say that Kanwar Yatra will lead to riots and 84 Kosi Parikrama was banned, along with this, Deepotsav was also opposed in Ayodhya.

He said, “Congress has filed a petition in the Supreme Court according to which Shri Ram and Shri Krishna are myths, Samajwadi Party used to open fire on Ram devotees. We got our lawyers to advocate in the court to stop the construction of the temple, but no one can imprison Sanatan Aastha.

He said, “Today a grand temple of Lord Shri Ram is standing in Ayodhya. This is the model of renaissance. There is heritage as well as development in this. This renaissance has started from Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh is the center point of faith of India. It would not be an exaggeration if Uttar Pradesh is called the soul of India’s faith.

The budget of Uttar Pradesh Assembly is going to start from Monday (09 February). This budget session will continue till 20 February. The opposition is preparing to corner the government. Meanwhile, before the start of the budget session, on Sunday (08 February), former Chief Minister of the state and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has cornered the BJP. He said that before BJP tells lies about the next budget, it is the public’s right to know the truth about the previous budget.

Akhilesh Yadav held a meeting with SP MLAs

Before the beginning of the budget session, Samajwadi Party chief and former CM of the state Akhilesh Yadav also held a meeting with the party MLAs at the party headquarters. During this, he told the MLAs the strategy to corner the government during the session. Along with organizational issues, the issue of electoral process and alleged irregularities were also raised prominently in the meeting.

All party meeting held before UP budget session

An all-party meeting was also held on Sunday (08 February) before the budget session in Uttar Pradesh. Along with the ruling BJP, members of Congress and Samajwadi Party participated in this meeting. In this meeting, issues related to smooth functioning of the House and public interest were discussed. Yogi government of UP will present the budget for 2026-27 on February 11.
