On 11 February 2026, UP Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the final budget for the second term of Yogi government. This budget of ₹9.12 lakh crore is being considered as a strong step towards making UP a one trillion dollar economy. Focus is on development, governance and public welfare. GSDP has grown by 13% to reach ₹30.25 lakh crore. Sugarcane payments for farmers, employment mission for youth and higher support for women have been announced. The overall message is clear—growth as well as welfare.

Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented a budget of Rs 9.13 lakh crore for the financial year 2026-27 in the Assembly today on Wednesday (February 11), which is about 12.2 percent more than the last financial year. At the same time, the reaction of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former Chief Minister of UP Mayawati has come to light on this budget of Yogi government.

BSP Chief Mayawati posted on X and wrote – “The budget for 2026-27 presented today in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly seems to be more of public appeal and less of real upliftment of the people and development of the entire society and all areas in the state. Still, the announcements and assurances etc. tried to be given to the public.

The budget for 2026-27 presented today in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly appears to be more of a public appeal and less of an actual upliftment of the people and development of the entire society and all areas in the state. Still, the announcements and assurances etc. that have been tried to be given to the public are being implemented in a timely manner.

— Mayawati (@Mayawati) February 11, 2026

Whereas former CM Mayawati said – “It would have been appropriate if the tradition of budget speech was made really solid and reliable by giving correct data of ground implementation of last year’s budget, whereas the current budget also seems to be more of a newspaper headline grabber, due to which once again people’s hopes of ‘good days’ seem to have been dashed. Anyway, the people of Uttar Pradesh are still waiting for employment system with permanent income, for which seriousness and activism is necessary. Is.

BSP supremo Mayawati said that in this regard, it is necessary for the government to pay proper attention to SC, ST and OBC reservation. The sooner the backlog of recruitment is completed, the better it will be. However, if the BJP government, like the four BSP governments, tries to fulfill the constitutional responsibility of ‘Sarvajan Hitaya and Sarvajan Sukhaay’ with sincerity and honesty, then it will be appropriate in the interest of the country and the public. The budget should also be in this direction, that is, it would be right if the budget is beneficial for a particular class and region and is not anti-anti-national to crores of poor and farmers but instead is a means of improving their lives.

Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has given a sharp reaction to the budget of Yogi government presented in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. Akhilesh Yadav called it a farewell budget. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav started the press conference with a riddle and said that when he opened his mouth, he spoke badly. Akhilesh Yadav said that this budget will mark the farewell of the present government.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said that the size of the budget is increased every year and this time too the budget is bigger than last year, but the government is not able to spend it. According to him, the budget is big, but it is not being spent. It is clear from this that the people of the government are incompetent.

Akhilesh Yadav also raised questions regarding the economy of the state. He said that according to the target of trillion dollar economy, the GSDP of Uttar Pradesh should be around Rs 90 lakh crore, but the actual figures have not been revealed yet. He claimed that the growth rate of the state should have been 30 percent, but sectors like agriculture and MSME are not getting the required encouragement.

Government should tell how much income of people taking ration – Akhilesh Yadav

Akhilesh said that the government is showing the dream of a developed India, while the ground reality is different. Raising the issue of per capita income, he said that the government should tell what is the income of the people who are being given ration. He also raised questions on the investment front, according to him, despite big claims under Invest UP in 2023-24, only a few investment proposals reached the ground and actual investment was only about Rs 4 thousand crore.

Government failed in providing employment to youth- Akhilesh Yadav

Speaking on MSME sector, Akhilesh Yadav said that out of 92 lakh units, about 82 lakh are not registered. His allegation was that policy relaxations will have the biggest impact on this sector and the government has failed in providing employment to the youth. He also made serious allegations against the government regarding health services. He said that wrong medicines are being given in many districts and cases of drug scams are coming to light.

Police system has weakened and corruption has increased

While commenting on law and order, Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the police system has weakened and corruption has increased. He said that instead of curbing organized crime, the system itself is under question.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her 9th full-time budget in Parliament on 1 February 2026. The biggest question after this budget is what Uttar Pradesh got in it. Many announcements related to infrastructure, health, women empowerment and new technology have been made for UP in Budget 2026.

Special emphasis on Varanasi and connectivity

Budget 2026 indicates to develop Varanasi as a major infrastructure hub. Ship repair ecosystem will be developed here, which will promote Ganga based transportation and employment. Along with this, Varanasi Ring Road Hybrid Rail Corridor and Varanasi-Delhi High Speed Rail Corridor have been announced, which will give impetus to both connectivity and trade.

There is also a proposal to build an integrated logistics hub in Varanasi, which will help in connecting Purvanchal with the national and international markets. These schemes are considered important towards establishing Uttar Pradesh as a major center of logistics and transport.

Focus on health, women and rural development

To strengthen health services in the budget, it has been announced to open emergency trauma centers in all the districts of Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, a provision has been made to make medicines for serious diseases like cancer and diabetes cheaper. After Lakhpati Didi Yojana for women, now there is a proposal to create ‘Shri Mart’ for rural women, which will provide market to their products.

It has also been announced to build a hostel for working women in every district. Apart from this, under the Divyang Sahara Yojana, provision has been made for timely assistance, increasing the production capacity of artificial limb manufacturing companies and investment in AI integration. Along with strengthening the PM Divyasha centres, emphasis has also been laid on mental health and trauma care.

Technology, Khadi and skill development schemes

In Budget 2026, Uttar Pradesh has also been given an important role in the field of technological development.
