It was inaugurated jointly by the country’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and UP CM Yogi Adityanath. But just 13 days after the inauguration, a mudslide occurred in the Kanpur to Lucknow lane of the expressway near Korari area of ​​Unnao.

Due to mudslide, long cracks appeared on the road and it was filled with water. As soon as pictures and videos of this incident surfaced, people started raising questions on the condition of the road. Local people say that since the situation is like this now, the situation may get worse in future due to heavy monsoon.

There was a stir in the construction agency after the Kanpur-Lucknow Elevated Expressway road caved in and the video went viral. The agency immediately sent its team to the spot and started the repair work of the road. It has been told by the construction agency that wherever the road was damaged. It has been fixed by doing patch work there.

However, people believe that just doing patch work on such a big and expensive expressway is not enough but it should be investigated in depth. Due to road subsidence, traffic was affected for some time which was later repaired. But this breakdown of the road in the very first rain puts a big stain on the work of the agency.

Let us tell you that this Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway is a 6-lane high-speed corridor of total 63 kilometers long. With its construction, the journey between Kanpur and Lucknow has become much easier. Earlier it used to take two to three hours to travel between the two cities. Now this distance is covered in just 35 to 40 minutes.

Thousands of vehicles travel through this corridor every day, which saves people’s time and petrol. But if the road on such an important route starts sinking in the first rain, then it can become a threat to thousands of passengers in the coming days. That is why people are demanding that there should be a high level investigation of this construction so that such incidents do not happen again.

Samajwadi Party’s media cell shared its video on social media and made sharp attacks on the government. SP alleged that there has been corruption in this project worth thousands of crores and public money has been wasted. The opposition says that despite the inauguration of such big leaders, the collapse of the road in 12-13 days shows how carelessly the work has been done.

While the local MLA countered the opposition’s allegations and said that it is common for such minor problems to arise on newly constructed roads during rains. He said that wherever any problem arises, it will be rectified immediately and the opposition has no issue.
