A big relief and golden opportunity has come for those youth of Uttar Pradesh who want to prepare for big exams like IAS and PCS, but are unable to afford expensive coaching. Social Welfare Department, Uttar Pradesh Lucknow has once again opened the door of free coaching for such candidates. The online application process for the preparation of IAS/PCS (Preliminary) Exam 2026 has started in the pre-examination coaching centers run by the department.

This scheme is especially for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC) students. This is no less than a great news for the students who want to advance in their studies and dream of civil services. Now you are getting a chance to prepare for IAS-PCS with government help without paying fees.

Who can fill the form?

Only those students who are natives of Uttar Pradesh can apply for this free coaching scheme. Also, the candidate should be from SC, ST or OBC category. The candidate must have passed at least graduation. Another important condition is that the annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 6 lakh. Only students who fulfill these conditions will be able to appear in this examination.

These are the important dates

Online applications have started from 18th May. The last date for form filling and correction is 18 June 2026. Admit cards will be released on June 25. The entrance examination will be held on 05 July 2026. The result will be out on July 28 and the coaching session is likely to start from August 1, 2026.

The most important thing about this entire process is that there is no need to pay any kind of fee to apply. That means the application can be made completely free of cost. In such a situation, this scheme can prove to be very beneficial for financially weak students.

Click on the link “Fill Online Application Form” there. Now fill all the requested information correctly. After completing the form, submit it and take a print out and keep it safe with you. This print may be useful later.
