The number of posts in UP PCS 2025 Recruitment has suddenly increased so much that now the opportunities for the contestants have become many times more than before. While initially only 200 posts were proposed in this recruitment, now the number has increased to 920 posts. That means there has been more than four and a half times increase in posts.

This increase has happened when the result of the preliminary examination of PCS 2025 has not even come yet. As soon as the Commission received the requisition (details of vacant posts) from various departments, it immediately updated the number of posts. The new requisitions sent by the departments have changed the atmosphere of the entire selection process.

Lakhs of candidates are going to get the direct benefit of increase in posts. Increasing the number of posts not only strengthens the chances of selection but will also increase the number of candidates appearing in the main examination.

Prelims result may come this week

According to reports, UP Public Service Commission can declare the result of PCS 2025 Prelims this week itself. In such a situation, the candidates are constantly keeping an eye on the website of the Commission. After the results are declared, preparations for the main examination will also gain momentum.

So many candidates took part in the examination

PCS Preliminary Exam 2025 was held on 12 October. 6,26,287 candidates had applied for this examination, but only 42.50% of these candidates appeared in the examination. That means only about half the candidates reached the examination centres.

A major reason for low attendance is believed to be that often the number of contestants in the prelims exam is high, but many people are not able to appear due to weak preparation or the exam center being far away. But now that there has been such a huge increase in the number of posts, the chances of selection for the candidates who have appeared in the examination have become even stronger.

Why were the posts increased?

This time a large number of vacancies have appeared in various government departments. As the requisitions kept coming to the Commission, the number of posts kept increasing. This is also a news of relief for many candidates because in the last few years the competition had become more tough due to limited number of recruitments. This time the sudden increase of posts almost five times has become a golden opportunity for the candidates.

What next?

Now the eyes of the candidates are fixed only on the prelims result. If it is released this week, the time to finalize preparations for the main exam will also be limited. The Commission may also soon take a decision on the dates of the main examination.

A big and relief news related to Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has come out. In the recruitment process of PCS 2024, candidates are going to get more opportunities now. The Commission has made it clear in the information given under RTI that this time a total of 947 posts will be recruited, which is more than four times as compared to 220 posts declared earlier. This information has come out in response to the RTI filed by Mohammad Raja of Bijnor, who is preparing for competitive examinations in Delhi.

Naib Tehsildar has the highest number of posts in this recruitment process, whose number is 258. Apart from this, 196 posts of Commerce Tax Assistant Commissioner and 142 posts of Commerce Tax Officer will also be recruited. Talking about administrative services, selection will also be made for 37 posts of Deputy Collector and 17 posts of Deputy SP.

Other important posts include 72 posts of Block Development Officer, 60 of subcontractor, 40 of Deputy Registrar, and 16 posts of Assistant Divisional Transport Officer. Apart from this, 22 posts of Treasurer and Accounts Officer, 02 of District Commandant Home Guard, one of Superintendent Jail, and 18 posts of Assistant Commissioner Industry are also included in this recruitment process.

In Panchayati Raj Department, 23 posts of work officer, District Social Welfare Officer K 09, District Minority Welfare Officer, District Food Marketing Officer, Statistics Officer, State Property Department Administrator, and Assistant Controller of Legal Measurement and Science Department will also be appointed.

When will the exam be done?

It is worth noting that the Commission had declared the result of PCS Preliminary Examination 2024 on 28 February 2025, in which 15066 candidates have been declared successful for the main examination. Now the PCS Mains 2024 exam is proposed from 19 June 2025.
