In view of the scorching heat and heatwave in UP, the state government has taken a big decision. The state government has extended the period of summer vacation in council schools run and recognized under the Basic Education Council. Due to which now studies in primary and upper primary schools in the state will start from June 25, 2026. Earlier, schools were to open from June 16.

According to the order issued by the Basic Education Department, this decision has been taken keeping in mind the health and safety of the students. The temperature is continuously increasing in many districts of the state and hot winds can affect children. In such a situation, the government has decided to keep the schools closed for a few more days.

What is in the letter?

In the letter issued by Additional Chief Secretary Basic Education, it has been said that the duration of summer vacation has also been fixed permanently from the year 2026. Now every year there will be summer vacation in council schools from 20th May to 24th June. After this, regular educational activities will start from June 25.

The government believes that there is extreme heat in the state during May and June, which can have an adverse effect on the health of children. For this reason, it has been decided to provide relief to the students by increasing the duration of holidays.

When will the classes start?

Although children’s classes in schools will start from June 25, teachers and other staff will have to reach school before that. According to the order, all teachers, Shikshamitras, instructors and non-teaching staff will be present in the school on 22, 23 and 24 June.

Also read – Relief to police recruitment candidates, more than 30 exam special trains will run on 16th and 17th June

What will happen?

During these three days, preparations for the new academic session will be made in schools. Teachers have been entrusted with the task of preparing lesson plans, ensuring availability of textbooks for students and maintaining other systems of the school.

Apart from this, works like reviewing the preparations for the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, cleaning the school premises, cleaning the kitchen and toilets, checking the drinking water system and making the smart class and ICT lab fully functional will also be completed during the same period. The aim of the department is to provide a better and safer educational environment to the students when they return to school.

studies will not be affected

The Basic Education Department has also clarified that academic work will not be affected by increasing the duration of leave. Compliance with the 220 working days prescribed in schools under the Right to Education Act (RTE) will be ensured.

Severe cold and cold wave have completely affected life in Uttar Pradesh. Due to dense fog and minimum temperature falling below 5 degrees Celsius, the District Magistrate has decided to extend the holidays in all schools from classes 1 to 8 in many districts of the state.

In view of cold wave and dense fog in Ghazipur, there will be holiday for classes 1 to 8 from 6 to 10 January. School managers can conduct online classes during the said period, and classes 9 to 12 will be conducted from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Holidays increased in Lucknow due to cold

In Lucknow, the District Magistrate has announced holiday for classes 1 to 8 from 6 to 8 January. Along with this, classes 9 to 12 will be conducted from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, while special arrangements have been made for the students preparing for board exams.

In Rae Bareli too, there will be a holiday in schools of all boards from classes 1 to 8 till January 8, while online classes can be given to the students of classes 6 to 8 by the school management. This order has been issued by District Magistrate Harshita Mathur. According to the order, holidays have been extended in schools from classes 1 to 8 of all boards (including UP Board, CBSE, ICSE).

In view of the extreme cold and cold wave, the District Magistrate of Kanpur has also declared holiday for classes 1 to 8 in all the council/aided/recognized/CBSE/ICSE schools of Kanpur Dehat till 07.01.2026.

Cold outbreak in these districts of UP

Let us tell you that this time the outbreak of cold has spread in the entire state. The minimum temperature was recorded between 4 to 6 degrees Celsius in more than 50 districts including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Agra, Meerut, Bareilly, Ayodhya, Jhansi. Due to dense fog, visibility has reduced to less than 50 meters, due to which the risk of road accidents has increased.

Along with this, the government has instructed all the District Magistrates to speed up relief work from cold, which includes distribution of night shelters, bonfires and warm clothes. This decision has been taken giving priority to the health and safety of children, so that they do not have to suffer unnecessary suffering in the harsh cold.

Allahabad High Court has banned any kind of business fair or event being organized in schools of UP. The court clearly said that now no commercial activity will be carried out in schools. Under no circumstances can the importance of a playground be reduced in relation to an educational institution.

The double bench of Allahabad High Court Chief Justice Arun Bhansali and Justice Kshitij Shailendra gave this order while disposing of the petition of Hamirpur petitioner Girja Shankar. This PIL was filed regarding the organization of a business fair in a college in Hamirpur.

Ban on commercial activity in educational institutions

Commenting on the commercial activities taking place in schools and colleges, the court said that educational institutions are meant only for providing education, the land and buildings of such institutions which also have playgrounds cannot be used under any name or for any commercial activity.

Court gave instructions to the state government

While hearing the PIL, the court ordered that the infrastructure of educational institutions should be used only for educational activities and related activities. The court directed the UP government to issue a clear and unambiguous circular in this regard.

In this circular, the district administration, police administration and educational institutions of all levels have been asked to take action as per the instructions given by the court within one month from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.

The court has said in strong words that there is no law which allows commercial use of the property of an educational institution imparting primary, secondary or higher education. The infrastructural facilities of educational institutions should be used for sports, cultural activities, debate competitions etc. and not for other purposes.

Driver killed in overtake dispute in Saharanpur, incident took place at some distance from the police post

Big news related to the education system in Uttar Pradesh has come to light. The recognition of about 2000 schools under the UP Board is under threat. Actually, these schools have portal wrong information about students upload Is of. In this case UP Madhyamik Education Council (UP Board) has issued orders for investigation and all District School Inspectors (DIOS) Instructions have been given to take immediate action.

According to the information received, many schools have portal But there are many more students than are actually enrolled. registration Has shown. In many places, students were not enrolled at all, but registration The number has been released. Some schools left the entries of students incomplete. Due to this disturbance, the board has now decided to review the recognition of all those schools.

Education Council officials say that portal But a big difference has been found between the recorded figures and the ground situation.
UP Board has warned all the district school inspectors that the schools where such negligence or fraud If found guilty, their accreditation may be suspended or cancelled.
