The final list has been released on Friday (April 10) after the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Uttar Pradesh. After this list, a big change is being seen in the figures. Due to which BJP’s tension may increase. The number of voters from urban areas has decreased in the final voter list.

The number of voters is seen decreasing more in the districts under the influence of BJP. Also, the situation seems better in Muslim dominated districts. Congress State President Ajay Rai has termed the SIR process as illegal. He said that this process is a direct violation of the voting rights of the people.

Most voters in these districts

Lucknow, Meerut, Noida, Ghaziabad and Kanpur cities of UP have the highest percentage of voters decreasing compared to October 2025. In all these districts the votes have decreased by 18.75 to 22.89 percent. In the 2022 assembly elections, BJP had won the maximum number of seats in these districts.

Even in the Lok Sabha elections, these seats are considered to be under the influence of BJP. Among the five assembly seats of the state, the maximum number of voters have decreased in Sahibabad, Agra Cantt, Allahabad North, Lucknow North and Noida. BJP MLAs are winning on these seats.

By how much percent did the number of voters decrease in Muslim dominated areas?

The number of voters has also decreased in Muslim dominated areas of UP. In Western Uttar Pradesh, the number of voters has decreased by 12.33 percent in Rampur, 10.09 percent in Moradabad, 14.47 percent in Sambhal, 10.38 percent in Muzaffarnagar, 9.63 percent in Bijnor and 10.48 percent in Saharanpur.

Seats where votes were cut, how many seats is BJP in control?

There are 16 seats in Uttar Pradesh where more than 1 lakh votes have decreased, out of which BJP is in control of 15 seats. At the same time, 80 to 99 thousand votes have decreased on 21 seats, out of which 19 seats belong to BJP. Apart from this, 50 to 80 thousand votes were lost on 82 seats. Out of these, BJP alliance has 55 seats.

There has been a reduction of 30 to 50 thousand votes in 159 assemblies in which BJP has 95 seats. There has been a decline of 18 to 34 percent in most of the seats of BJP alliance, while there has been a decline of 8 to 15 percent in most of the seats of SP. More than 25 percent votes have been lost in 15 assembly seats of the state, all of them are from urban areas.

What percentage of voters decreased in Lucknow-Gorakhpur?

In Lucknow’s Mohanlalganj assembly, voters have decreased by 11.21 percent, in Gorakhpur Dehat by 10.92 percent, and in Gorakhpur city seat by 6.88 percent. There has been a decrease of 1 lakh 54 thousand 710 voters in Lucknow North.

At the same time, votes of 1 lakh 47 thousand 182 voters were deducted in Agra Cantt, 1 lakh 45 thousand 810 in Allahabad North, maximum 3 lakh 16 thousand 484 in Sahibabad and 1 lakh 83 thousand 887 in Noida. 34.18 percent votes were lost in Lucknow Cantt, 34.01 percent in Allahabad North, 31 percent in Lucknow North, 30.47 percent in Agra Cantt, and 31.01 percent in Lucknow East.

The number has reduced even compared to 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

The number of voters in the final list of SIR has reduced compared to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The first SIR process was conducted in the state in 2003. During the 2002 assembly elections, there were 9.98 crore voters. After this the SIR of the voter list was done. After SIR, the number of voters in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections increased to 11.06 crore. But this time this figure has reversed.

Now the number of voters in UP has reached 13 crore 39 lakh 84 thousand 792. This number was 15.44 crore before the SIR process. If seen, 71 thousand 647 votes have been lost in every assembly. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the number of voters in the state was 13.89 crore. In comparison to that, now about 49 lakh votes have decreased.

What percentage of votes were cut in which state?

13.40 percent were cut in the SIR process held in Gujarat. After this, maximum 13.24 percent votes were lost in UP. Talking about other states, the percentage cut is 11.77 in Chhattisgarh, 11.61 in West Bengal, 11.55 in Tamil Nadu, 10.76 in Goa, 7.57 in Puducherry, 5.97 in Madhya Pradesh, 5.95 in Bihar, 5.74 in Rajasthan and the least in Kerala is 3.22 percent.

So many votes were lost in Shivpal Yadav’s assembly.

After SIR, 47 thousand 194 votes were deducted in Jaswantnagar, the assembly seat of SP MLA Shivpal Singh Yadav. This seat is considered to be the strongest stronghold of SP. Shivpal had won the 2022 assembly elections by 90 thousand 979 votes. The discussion has intensified on the deduction of more than 47 thousand votes from this assembly.

Minister of State for Higher Education Rajni Tiwari has won from Shahabad region. He defeated SP by a small margin of 6 thousand 479 votes. Now 39 thousand votes were reduced on this seat, due to which there is a possibility of direct loss to BJP.

Apart from this, Excise Minister Nitin Agarwal had secured 1 lakh 26 thousand 750 votes in the 2022 elections from Sadar Assembly seat of Hardoi. He defeated the SP candidate by a margin of 42 thousand 411 votes. SP had secured 84 thousand 339 votes here. Now 85 thousand 757 votes have been cast on this seat.
