Petrol-Diesel Price on May 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appealed to the citizens of the country to use petroleum products sparingly in view of the ongoing crisis in West Asia. He virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth about Rs 9400 crore in Telangana. During this he told that imported fuel should be used only when necessary.

He said that such restraint will save foreign exchange and reduce the impact of economic shocks caused by international conflicts. PM Modi said, “But, the need of the hour today is that petrol, gas, diesel and such things should be used very sparingly. We have to use imported petroleum products only as per the need. This will not only save foreign exchange, but will also reduce the ill effects of war.

PM Modi has made this appeal to the people of the country at a time when the news of increase in the prices of petrol and diesel is making a lot of headlines these days. The global energy crisis has deepened due to the ongoing war between Iran and America. This has affected the supply of crude oil. There is turmoil all over the world. During this period, the prices of petrol and diesel have remained stable in India for a long time, due to which oil companies are incurring a loss of about Rs 1600-1700 crore every day.
