UPI Payment: The world is moving rapidly towards digitalization. As the world is progressing, the ways of working are changing. Now look at the method of payment itself, earlier people carried cash with them because this was the only means of transaction. Now times have changed, now payment is done instantly with just one click on the phone. People still keep cash, but UPI (Unified Payment Interface) is being used more now.

UPI payment without internet

However, being based on internet access, sometimes it becomes difficult to make online payment due to poor network, lack of mobile data or using a basic phone. To solve this problem, National Payments Corporation of India has started UPI payment offline through USSD-based service. This option works without internet and has simple text menus that anyone can follow. By simply dialing a short code from your registered mobile number, you can send money even in low network areas.

What is offline UPI payment?

Offline UPI payment is a feature that allows users to conduct UPI transactions without any internet access or WiFi. It works through a USSD service, which can be accessed by dialing *99# from any mobile number linked to the bank account. To start using offline UPI payment, you have to activate it on your registered mobile number. For this follow these steps-

• First of all dial *99# from your phone.
• Select your preferred language.
• Enter the IFSC code of your bank.
• Select the bank account you want to link.
• Enter the last six digits of your debit card.
• Enter debit card expiry date.
• After verification, offline UPI payment will be enabled.
• Once activated, you can use this USSD-based service anytime without internet access.

How to make offline UPI payment?

After activation, it is easy to send money through offline UPI payment-

• Dial *99# from your registered mobile number.
• Select option ‘1’ to send money.
• Enter the bank account details along with the recipient’s UPI ID, mobile number, or IFSC.
• Enter amount (up to Rs 5,000).
• Enter your UPI PIN to complete the payment.
• The transaction will be processed instantly using the USSD system.

UPI Payment: Unified Payment Interface (UPI) in India has made another record in its name. From city to village, the use of UPI has increased to such an extent that UPI, operated by the National Payments Corporation of India (NCPI), has achieved the highest monthly and daily transaction record till date.

In fact, a record 20.70 billion transactions were done in the month of October, which is much more than 19.63 billion in September and 20.01 billion in August. This shows how fast people are adopting it in their everyday life.

Payments are being made through UPI at a rapid pace

According to NPCI data, total transactions of Rs 27.28 lakh crore were made through UPI in October, while transactions of Rs 24.90 lakh crore were made in September and Rs 24.85 lakh crore in August. Compared to the last one year, the volume of UPI transactions has increased by 25 percent, while the total value has also increased by 16 percent.

On October 18, a record-breaking 754.37 million transactions were recorded through UPI, which is the largest transaction done in a single day since the launch of UPI. The average daily transaction in October stood at 668 million, while the average daily transaction value increased to 87,993 crore from 82,991 crore in September.

Why did this increase happen?

Experts say that this surge has come due to the festive season. Apart from this, now UPI is being adopted rapidly in rural areas also, the scope of digital infrastructure has increased. Now more and more businessmen have started adopting payment through QR code. Along with this, India is gradually moving towards cashless economy.

Use of IMPS and FASTag also increased

In the month of October, IMPS transactions increased by 3 percent to 40.4 crores. Total value increased by 8 percent to Rs 6.42 trillion. FASTag volume also increased by 8 percent to 36.1 crores. Its total value also increased by 4 percent to Rs 6,686 crore, which shows its increasing use on the highways during the festive season.

When is it expected to be launched?

The launch date of Zoho Pay app has not been revealed yet, but it is being speculated that it can be launched in the next quarter. Currently, testing of this app is going on and it will be launched for Android as well as iOS.

Most digital transactions happen through UPI

India’s digital payment network is the most active in the world. Here, most digital payments are made through UPI. According to a latest report, 17,221 crore transactions were done through UPI in 2024, whereas in 2019 this number was 1,079 crore. If we look at the total value of these transactions, there was a transaction of Rs 18.4 lakh crore in 2019, whereas in 2024 this number will increase to about Rs 247 lakh crore.

Before transferring money under SEBI check tool, investors can check the UPI ID of the broker by visiting SEBI’s charioteer app or SEBI website. The @Valid UPI ID or account number and IFSC code of the broker are used for this UPI ID. SEBI says that such steps are being taken to prevent fraud and make investment payment easier.

At the same time, SEBI has made the system completely user friendly and keeping in mind its safety, some necessary features have also been added. Features like visual confirmation have been added. So that whenever you pay the payment on a SEBI authorized broker or institution on the @Valid UPI ID, the payment will be seen in the green trangal on the payment screen.

Upi new rules: There is big news for digital payments. From September 15, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has increased the limit of Person-to-Cracha (P2M) transaction to Rs 10 lakh. With this, it has become even easier to make big transactions through UPI. What has changed under the new rule?

The payment of investment and insurance premium payment in the capital market has also been increased from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. However, no more than Rs 10 lakh will be paid in a day. That is, under the new rules, the limit of per transaction in categories like Capital Market, Insurance Premium, Credit Card Bill Payment, Travel and Government E-Marketplace (GEM) has been increased from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. Of these, you will be able to do transactions up to 10 lakh rupees in a day.

Jewelery and Banking Service

Similarly, the limit of jewelery purchase through UPI has been increased to Rs 2 lakh per transaction (first Rs 1 lakh). In this category, you will not be able to do transactions of more than Rs 6 lakh a day. For banking services like fixed deposit through digital onboarding, Rs 5 lakh per transaction has also been done per day. However, the limit of P2P payment will be only Rs 1 lakh per day. Increasing the limit of UPI transaction shows the NPCI’s commitment, under which it wants to improve the experience of users by making large transactions easier. Take care while scanning QR

Every QR code would not have been engaged to take payment. Many times fraudster fake QR code and implicate people in their web. Therefore, take care while scanning the QR code in public places. If you are having a little doubt anywhere, then pay other ways instead of QR code there.

Use official apps

Always use official apps for transactions or other works. Never download any app from the link from an unknown person in some greed. The app downloaded from such links can steal your important information and password.

Now they can be scheduled to schedule in three different slots, so that the system does not load more at the same time.

Prices of LPG cylinder reduced

SBI card rules also changed
