Exam Process and Time Line

The process of UPSC CSE started from the preliminary examination on 25 May 2025. The main examination was held from 22 to 31 August 2025. The final stage, i.e. personality test or interview, took place on 27 February 2026. As per its customary trend, UPSC declared the final result within about a week of the completion of the interview. Compared to previous years, this year also the time limit remained almost the same. Like in 2024 the interviews ended on 17th April 2025 and the results were declared on 22nd April. Interviews in 2023 ended on 9 April 2024 and the results were declared on 16 April.

How much is the cutoff

The Union Public Service Commission has to depend on the digits of two paper to pass the prelims, which includes General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II. In which paper I are of a total of 200 marks. It has a total of 100 questions and 2 marks are prescribed for each question. How much the passing mark will be in this depends on the cutoff.

If you talk about paper II, then it is also 200 numbers, but the number of questions is less in it, there are a total of 80 questions and every question gets 2.5 marks for each question.
