UPSC recently released the result of the Civil Service Examination. Every year the UPSC examination includes a large number of candidates. But only a few candidates are able to pass it. This is the story of Birappa Doni, a resident of Nanwadi village in Karnataka. This is not just the success of a young man, but the victory of the hope and struggle of an entire community. This ordinary youth, who lives a life with sheep, proved the 551st rank in UPSC CSE 2024 and proved that whatever the situation, if the intentions are strong then the floor is not far away.

Good news from pasture

Originally a resident of Amaghe village in Maharashtra, Birappa came to his relatives in Nanwadi village in Belagavi district during the holidays. On 23 April 2025, when his family received information that Birappa had achieved 551st rank in UPSC, it was as if there was a festive atmosphere in the village. The pasture on which sheep were grazed daily, the same place was celebrated with flowers, garlands, drums and traditional folk songs.

Travel from army to civil service

Birappa had a dream to become an officer in the army, like his elder brother is working in the Indian Army. After doing BTech, he started a job in India Post, but his heart always pulled towards big dreams.

Dream of becoming IPS

A few years later, he quit his job and started preparing for UPSC. This was his third attempt and this time he flew high of success. He wishes that he gets a chance in the Indian Police Service (IPS), so that he can serve the society.

Birappa’s father Siddhappa Doni says that he did not know much about the exam, but I was confident that my son would do something big.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the final result of Civil Services Examination 2024. Along with this exam, the hard work of millions of youth who had been dreaming of selection in reputed services like IAS, IPS, IFS for years. After the result, the candidates are now eyeing the cutoff points, which decide where the line of selection was drawn. The Commission has released the category -wise cutoff of the initial, main and final three phases on its official website upsc.gov.in.

Learn how much the cutoff of the preliminary examination went

In the preliminary examination of UPSC CSE 2024, the cutoff for general category was 87.98 points, which can be considered balanced as per recent years. For OBC category it has been set 87.28 marks, 85.92 marks for EWS, 79.03 marks for SC category and 74.23 for ST category. These figures show that class -wise competition in the preliminary examination was quite dense.

Category -wise cutoff of main examination

The cutoff marks in the main examination were more challenging. The main examination cutoff for general category was 729 marks, while 696 for EWS, 702 for OBC, 685 for SC category and 684 for ST category have been fixed.

This is the last line for final selection

The final cutoff, which also includes interview marks, scored 947 points for the general category. This mark shows the final limit of selection, on the basis of which service is allotted to the candidates.

Shakti Dubey remained number 1 in toppers

This time Prayagraj’s Shakti Dubey has secured the first place. Harshita Goyal was in second place and Dongre Arch Parag on the third. The top 5 consists of three women. Akash Garg of Delhi has got the fifth position. This year 2845 candidates were called for interview, out of which 1009 have been selected. The selected include 335, OBC 318, EWS 109, SC category 160 candidates and 87 candidates of ST category.

In the results of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2024, Harshita Goyal of Gujarat has secured the second position in the country by achieving excellent success. Harshita has studied Commerce (B.Com) from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda. He had chosen “Political Science and International Relations” as his alternative subject.

The final result of UPSC Civil Service Exam was released today. Shakti Dubey has achieved pride across the country by securing the top position in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024. Today, in the released results of UPSC CSE exam, Shakti got All India Rank 1.

Shakti Dubey is a resident of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. He has completed school and college studies from Prayagraj. Shakti has studied graduation from Allahabad University. He has completed his post-graduation in bio chemistry from Banaras Hindu University. Shakti completed PG in 2016. She was preparing for the Civil Service Examination from 2018.
