Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the result of Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSE Prelims) 2026 on its official website upsc.gov.in. This examination was conducted on 24 May 2026 across the country. Recruitment is to be done on about 933 posts through this examination, for which a total of 8,19,372 candidates had registered.

So many candidates had registered

A total of 8,19,372 candidates had registered for UPSC CSE 2026 Prelims, but about 2.70 lakh candidates did not appear in the examination held on May 24. That means only about 67% attendance was recorded, which is in accordance with the trend of previous years.

Actually, applying for UPSC is quite cheap. The application fee for male candidates of general category is only ₹ 100. For this reason, many people fill the form without proper preparation. This is the reason why every year there is a big difference between those who register and those who take the exam.

What should successful candidates do now?

The result contains the roll numbers of those candidates who have now been selected for the UPSC Mains Exam 2026. UPSC Prelims exam was held on 24 May 2026. Successful candidates will now have to fill the Detailed Application Form (DAF) within the stipulated time limit and start preparing for the Mains exam.

How to check UPSC CSE Prelims Result 2026 online

First go to the official website of UPSC upsc.gov.in.

After this, on the home page, click on the UPSC CSE Prelims Result 2026 link.

Then enter registration number and roll number.

After this the result PDF will appear on the screen

Now download it and find your roll number by pressing Ctrl + F.
