The final result of UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 was released on 6 March 2026. As soon as the result came out, some people in many parts of the country started claiming themselves as successful candidates. In many cases, confusion arose due to the names being similar or the information not being confirmed correctly. Later, the truth of these claims came to light in the commission and administrative investigation and many cases were found to be fake.

Two claims of Akanksha Singh regarding 301st rank

After the release of UPSC results, a big controversy came to light regarding 301st rank. Actually, two women with the same name had claimed success at this rank. One of these candidates was from Bihar, while the other was from Abhaipur village of Zamaniya block of Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh. After the claims of both of them came to light, discussion on this issue started on social media. To clarify the situation in this matter, an official press release was issued by PIB India. It was told in the press release that according to the records of the Commission, the real candidate who secured 301st rank in the Civil Services Examination 2025 is Dr. Akanksha Singh of Ghazipur. Her mother’s name is Neelam Singh. After this clarification, the long-running confusion ended.

Bulandshahr’s Shikha Gautam’s claim turned out to be wrong

Meanwhile, a shocking case also came to light from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh. Shikha Gautam, a resident of this place, claimed that she has secured 113th rank in the UPSC exam. It was told that Shikha had informed her family about this success by calling. On hearing this news, there was an atmosphere of happiness among the family and relatives. People distributed sweets and celebrated. When Shikha Gautam reached her home in Bulandshahr, the local people and relatives welcomed her with drums and drums. However, later when the official result was checked, it was found that the 113th rank had been given to another candidate, who is from Haryana. In this way, the claim of Shikha Gautam of Bulandshahr was proved wrong and the whole matter attracted a lot of discussion on social media also.

Fake claim of 440th rank came to light in Bihar

A fake claim regarding the UPSC result also came to light in Sheikhpura district of Bihar. Ranjit Kumar, a resident of Fatehpur village, declared himself to be a candidate of All India Rank 440 after the result was declared on March 6. When the people of the village got information about this, an atmosphere of happiness was created there. People congratulated him and his achievement started being discussed. He was also honored without any official confirmation. Even the local police station officer honored him by garlanding him. But later when this claim was investigated, it was found that the 440th rank was not of Ranjit Kumar of Bihar but of Ranjit Kumar of Karnataka. The accused had confused people by taking advantage of the slight difference in the name. When the administration asked for documents related to him, he suddenly disappeared. It is being told that he was preparing for competitive examinations while staying in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi. At present the police is busy searching for him.

There was confusion regarding 79th rank also

After the UPSC result, another matter came to light in which there was confusion regarding the 79th rank. In fact, Priyanka Chaudhary, a resident of Bikaner, Rajasthan, has secured 79th rank in the Civil Services Examination. At the same time, the name of another Priyanka Chaudhary, resident of Gaura village of Jakhaniya area of Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh, also started being linked with the same rank on social media. Her father, who is working as a driver in a government department, had mentioned his daughter’s success in a conversation with the media. Later, Priyanka Chaudhary of Ghazipur herself clarified that she had no claim to this rank in UPSC. Have not done. He told that he is currently working on the post of GST Inspector in Prayagraj and he was selected in the year 2025.

The real Priyanka Chaudhary achieved success in the fourth attempt.

The real candidate who secured 79th rank in UPSC is Priyanka Chaudhary from Bikaner district of Rajasthan. After hard work and continuous efforts, he achieved this success in the fourth attempt. Her husband is a 2015 batch IAS officer and is currently posted in Himachal Pradesh.

After the declaration of the results of UPSC Civil Services Exam, an atmosphere of celebration started in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. Shikha Gautam of Bulandshahr had given the UPSC exam after a lot of preparation. She felt that she had got the fruits of her hard work and her name appeared at number 113 in the list, but Shikha had only seen her name and not the roll number. Actually, Shikha, who became IAS, was from Haryana.

Meanwhile, Shikha Gautam of Bulandshahr became emotional after seeing the result and without taking further information she informed her family and relatives that she has become an IAS. An atmosphere of celebration was created in the village. Shikha was welcomed with drums. About 1200 people participated in the celebration. Shikha’s aarti was performed and people started dancing and singing.

Then suddenly, the dream of Shikha Gautam and her family was shattered. It turned out that he had made a mistake in checking the results. In her haste, Shikha Gautam only checked her name but forgot to check the roll number, which was not hers.

‘I made a mistake, did not check the roll number’- Shikha

When Shikha Gautam was talked about this, she said- ‘I made a mistake’. Talking to news agency ANI, she said, “She is the second Shikha who has been selected. Her name is Shikha and so is mine. I had checked only the name in the result PDF and that is the mistake I made. I should have checked the roll number along with the name.”

Shikha became emotional after seeing the result, mistake of being hasty

At the same time, Shikha’s father Premchand told, “As soon as she saw her name in the list, she told us that she had been selected in IAS. We do not know who is the other Shikha, who was actually selected, not my daughter. We were not even at home at that time. We were getting our wife operated. Shikha became emotional due to happiness, she did not see the complete information and only saw her name. She made a mistake.”

Before this, there was a celebratory atmosphere in the Gautam family. On March 8, Shikha’s brother had informed that his third sister Shikha had secured 113th rank in the second attempt of UPSC. He said that Shikha worked hard at a good level from the beginning. She has been good at studies since the beginning, her dedication was good. Did his 10th from Bulandshahr, 12th from Gandhi Bal Niketan and took B.Sc degree from IP College. Then did BTC.

Shikha first wanted to become a teacher

Brother further told that Shikha’s first vision was to become a teacher, because our father is in the education department and holds an office post in Indira Gandhi Girls Inter College. His job is of fourth class, but the parents have struggled a lot to educate all the children. Made us all educated. My other two sisters are teachers, one in Bahraich and one in Bihar. Third sister Shiksha has now become an IAS. The youngest sister is also preparing for the police.

Shikha Gautam’s mother is a housewife, she could not study much. Father is 10th pass. Monu said, “She did not let us lack anything in this small job.
Akanksha Singh of Bhojpur has brought glory to her district and family by securing 301st rank in the Civil Services Examination 2025 of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Akanksha Singh is a resident of Khopira village of Pawana police station area of Arrah district and is the granddaughter of Brahmeshwar Mukhiya, the chief of Ranveer Sena.

Let us tell you that UPSC released the results of Civil Services Examination on March 6, in which Akanksha’s success became a topic of discussion. The special thing is that Akanksha told her inspiration to her grandfather Brahmeshwar Mukhiya, who was murdered in the year 2012.

‘Grandfather’s struggle became a source of inspiration’

After her success, Akanksha Singh said that since childhood she used to ask questions about her grandfather. She said that ever since she regained consciousness, she had been asking her family where her grandfather was, but she never got a straight answer. Later, when she grew up, she came to know that her grandfather remained in jail for a long time and kept struggling for the society. Akanksha said that due to her grandfather’s struggle, her family went back 10-20 years, but the same struggle became a source of inspiration for her. She said that even today she takes inspiration to move forward only by remembering her grandfather.

Gave credit for success to parents and family

Akanksha Singh gave credit for her achievement to her parents, family members and teachers. He told that to pass a difficult examination like UPSC, he studied for 10 to 12 hours daily. According to him, success in this examination is not achieved only by studies, but consistency, patience and self-confidence are also equally important. He said that instead of being afraid of failure, one should learn from it and move forward. Akanksha told that she was not successful in her first attempt, but she did not give up and prepared better by working on her weaknesses. The result of that is that he got this success in the second attempt itself.

Who was Brahmeshwar Mukhiya?

Actually, Akanksha Singh’s grandfather Brahmeshwar Mukhiya was a resident of Khopira village in Bhojpur district of Bihar and he is known as the founder of Ranveer Sena. Ranveer Sena was formed under his leadership in 1994 during the conflict between Naxalite organizations and big farmers in Bihar in the 1990s. This private army was considered important in the politics of caste conflict in Bihar at that time and it also had many encounters with Naxalite organizations. Due to these struggles, Brahmeshwar Mukhiya remained in jail for a long time. After being released from jail in 2011, he was shot dead in 2012. Now his granddaughter Akanksha Singh has created a new identity by achieving success in UPSC.
