International Labor Day: On the occasion of International Workers’ Day, Tejashwi Yadav has taken a dig at the Bihar government and said that due to the large-scale migration of workers, the name of the state should be changed to Shramik Pradesh. The largest share of migrant laborers in India comes from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. About 19% of workers from Uttar Pradesh and about 12% from Bihar migrate to other states in search of better livelihood. Delhi and Mumbai

Delhi and Mumbai still remain a major center for migrant workers. Delhi alone attracts about 12% of the migrants coming in search of work. The city provides employment opportunities in construction, transportation, domestic work and small-scale industries.

Actually, migrant workers work in unorganized sectors. About 41% of the workers work as drivers and about 32% are involved in delivery services. The rest are able to work as security guards or domestic workers.
