US- Iran war: Due to the ongoing tension between US and Iran, there was a shortage in the supply of some important things in the country. The most important of which is LPG gas, although now it seems that there has been a slight increase in the supply of these things. Now recently, big updates have also come out from the government regarding the supply of LPG and fertilizer and urea.

LPG supply increased
In a recent press conference, Joint Secretary of the Petroleum Ministry, Sujata Sharma, has given a big update regarding LPG. He has told that now the allocation of commercial LPG in the country has increased by 70 percent. Although people were panicking at some distributor centers and reaching to buy cylinders, despite this the government has adequate supply of LPG and there is no shortage with any distributor. Sujana said, ‘Most of the deliveries are now being done through authentication system (DAC) and about 93 percent of LPG cylinders have been delivered with authentication code only. So far, more than 1,65,000 tonnes of commercial LPG cylinders have been sold.

There is no shortage of manure and fertilizers
Apart from this, Additional Secretary of the Fertilizer Department, Aparna Sharma, while talking about the shortage of fertilizers during a press briefing on Monday, said, ‘The availability of fertilizers remains strong and the supply is more than the requirement and till now no information of any kind of shortage has been received. The availability of urea from April 1, 2026 to April 26, 2026 is 71.58 lakh metric tons, whereas the requirement was only 18.17 lakh metric tons. Similarly, the availability of DAP is also 22.35 lakh metric tonnes whereas its requirement in the country is only 5.90 lakh metric tonnes.

Let us tell you that in some reports that came out recently, it was said that to secure the supply of urea in India, it is being purchased at higher prices, so that the supply is not affected. However, the government has rejected any such claims.
