Venezuela Stock Market Jumps: While major geopolitical changes are being seen at the global level after the US military action on Venezuela and taking control of long-serving President Nicolas Maduro, it has also had a shocking impact on the Venezuelan stock market. According to the IBC index, which reflects the movement of the stock market in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, the market jumped by almost 50 percent in a single day on Tuesday.

The rise was not limited to Tuesday only. On Monday, an increase of about 16 percent was recorded in the IBC index. Earlier on December 29, the index rose by 22 percent, while after the New Year, on January 2, a rise of 7 percent was seen.

Thus, in just two trading sessions of January, the IBC index jumped by about 87 percent, which reflects the positive investor sentiment created after the political developments.
