Us baseline tariff: US President Donald Trump has imposed a baseline tariff of 10 percent on all countries of the world, which came into effect from midnight on Saturday. Due to this, American custom officials started recovering it from 5 April. With this, more tariffs have been imposed on 57 countries like India, China, Vietnam, which will be implemented from 9 April.

Recovery of 10 percent baseline tariffs started

Trump’s 10 percent baseline tariff came into force at American ports, airports and custom warehouses at 12 am yesterday (Indian time 09:31 in the morning 09:31). Along with this, Trump completely rejected the system of tariff rates fixed by mutual consent after World War II.

According to a Business Standard report, during the first term of Trade Lawyer and Trump in Hogan Lavels, Kelly N. Shaw, former Trading Advisor of the White House, said, “This is the biggest trade action that took place in our lifetime so far.”
