CAT immediately stops the attack on the President

According to secretservice.gov, its purpose is to prevent an attack that may have been carried out on the President, as well as to destroy the attacker. Their number is 150. They work in battle dress uniform. Apart from defence, the role of this team is to face the attack and thwart it. After the firing on Saturday also, CAT soldiers formed an impenetrable cordon around President Trump. At the same time, the security team was taking them out.

CAT immediately targeted the attacker, so that the President could be saved. CAT motorcade is always deployed at program sites and national special security events.

How difficult is CAT training and selection?
America’s Secret Service is very difficult. Here first one has to become an agent of Secret Service, in this 33 weeks basic training is given. After this the selection process starts. It includes a 2-week selection course and a 7-week special basic course.

During this, ambush tactics, close quarters, combat, weapon handling, decision making under pressure, and teamwork are included. This entire process takes two years. Only 10 percent candidates are able to pass it.
