Asian Market Reactions After US Shutdown Ends: The effect of the end of the 43-day shutdown in America is now visible in the global markets. A mixed trend was seen in domestic and international markets. There was a decline in the Indian market on Thursday morning, while there was growth in some places and weakness in some places in Asian markets.

condition of asian markets

Japan’s Nikkei: Trading at 51,152 with a gain of 88 points (0.17%).

Shanghai (Shanghai Composite): In the green with a gain of about 18 points.

Shenzhen (Shenzhen Composite): Trading with a strength of 238 points.

Hong Kong’s HSI: slipped by 156 points (0.58%) to 26,766.

Kospi of South Korea: Weak with a slight decline of 2 points.

Shutdown ends in America

The US Parliament on Wednesday passed a bill ending the 43-day shutdown. Due to this, all those departments of the government which were stalled for several weeks were reopened. President Donald Trump signed the bill and gave it formal approval.

However, there is still an atmosphere of caution among investors as they are now waiting for the employment and inflation data for the month of October. The market is now eyeing the next interest rate policy of the US Federal Reserve. Investors are expecting that if economic activities appear sluggish, the Fed may cut interest rates in the near future.

Uncertainty due to lack of data

The White House has said that employment and inflation data for October will not be released because data collection was halted during the shutdown.
Because of this, at present investors will not be able to get clear signals on the real condition of the American economy.

Amidst the shutdown and data uncertainty, the US technology sector is also being impacted. Market analysts say that investors have now become more cautious about high-value tech stocks.

impact on indian market

The Indian stock market made a weak start on Thursday. Sensex opened with a decline in early trade. Nifty was also trading in the red. Experts say that global uncertainty, dollar strength, and FII selling are keeping pressure on Indian markets.

The end of the shutdown in America may be a matter of relief, but lack of data, uncertainty about the Fed’s decision and weak sentiment in the tech sector have forced the Asian and Indian markets to adopt a balanced but cautious approach for the time being.

The US government shutdown has now entered its sixth week, leaving millions of federal employees across the country working without pay or being furloughed. Due to the shutdown, flights are being canceled at airports. Food aid programs are affected. Common people are being affected due to the stoppage of government services. According to experts, this has become the longest government shutdown in American history, raising questions not only about the administrative structure but also the credibility of the democratic process.

For the first time, Senate lawmakers are trying to break this deadlock, but there are no signs of any progress in bipartisan talks. Democrats want the government to first pass the federal budget and then discuss policy issues, while the Trump administration is adamant on combining health policy and border security talks. This impasse is slowly starting to affect the American economy. Government loans to small businesses are closed, national parks and museums are locked, and many government contractors are on the verge of bankruptcy.

Trump’s adamant stance – ‘No compromise’

President Donald Trump made it clear on social media on Saturday (November 8, 2025) that he is not ready to compromise with the Democrats. He attacked the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and said that it is the worst health care system in the world. Trump wants Congress to give money directly to citizens so they can buy insurance themselves. This is an idea that can bring fundamental changes in the American health system. However, Trump’s proposal has been rejected outright by the Democratic Party, saying it will give unfair advantage to insurance companies and the private health sector and will make healthcare more expensive for the poor.

Trump attacks filibuster, demands change in Senate procedure

Amid the shutdown crisis, Trump has made another controversial suggestion. He asked Republican lawmakers to eliminate the filibuster rule, which requires 60 votes in the Senate to pass any legislation. If this rule is abolished, Republicans can pass legislation with a simple majority, thereby completely bypassing the Democrats.

The ongoing government shutdown in America is now having a direct impact on the country’s air services. As of Friday morning, more than 800 flights have been cancelled, which is four times more than on Thursday. Amid this crisis, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered a 4% reduction in flight operations at 40 major airports in the country, including major hubs like New York, Los Angeles and San Diego.

This order of FAA has come into effect from Friday and if the shutdown prolongs, then this reduction may increase up to 10% by next week. According to CNN report, airlines have already canceled hundreds of flights to avoid possible chaos.

FAA and US government response

US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said on Wednesday, “This step will temporarily reduce the number of flights, but we will work with the airlines to implement it in a controlled manner.” The FAA has warned that if the shutdown continues, up to 4,000 flights per day could be affected, as many air traffic control towers are facing staff shortages.

Where and when will flight cuts be implemented

Bloomberg’s report suggests that flights will be mainly affected between 6 am and 10 pm. In the initial phase, 4% flights will be reduced, which can be increased to 10% next week. However, international flights are currently exempted from this rule.

Which airlines are most affected?

According to analyst Sheila Kahyaoglu, America’s four big airlines – American Airlines, Delta, United and Southwest will be most affected in November and December. According to the FlightAware website, as of 4:30 am on Friday, 800 flights had been cancelled, whereas on Thursday this number was only 201. Airlines have said that full refund will be given to passengers whose flights have been cancelled.

What could happen next?

FAA officials say that if the government shutdown does not end soon, there will be increased pressure on air traffic management. Due to lack of staff, both security and timing can be affected. Experts believe that if the situation continues like this, travelers may face serious problems during the Thanksgiving travel season.

Gold Price Hit Fresth Record: The glow of gold is increasing day by day. On Tuesday, its prices once again reached the new record. Along with this, during the last 14 years, the month was seen to be the highest in September. The reason for this is being considered as a possible shutdown of the US government and the expectation of interest rate cuts from the US central bank Federal Reserve, which further increased the demand for gold to be considered safe investment.

Gold boom in gold

Spot Gold price rose 0.2 percent to $ 3842.76 an ounce. In September, the price of gold on the Indian bullion rose 11.4 percent. That is, this is the first month after September of 2011 when the price of gold has climbed so fast.

After the recent economic data, the US Fed has increased the hope of cutting interest rates once again by the end of this year. It is believed that 25 basis points can be cut in the next meeting of Fed. St. Louis Federal Reserve President Alberto Mussalem said that he is ready to cut interest rates, but the fed against inflation will have to be vigilant.

Why the price of gold is climbing

There are many reasons behind the recent boom in gold and silver. The biggest reason is geopolitical stress and international market conditions. Apart from this, the festive season in India is also increasing the demand for gold. Trump high tariff and the fall in rupee has also affected the prices and demands of gold and silver. When the stock market fluctuates, investors are attracted towards gold considered to be the safest.
