Why did ICC suspend USA Cricket Board?

According to reports, the ICC has taken this action after repeatedly violating its obligations as an ICC member. However, the board has given permission that the USA cricket team will be able to participate in their tournament. According to the reports, the ICC was receiving complaints against this board for some time. This was the first time when the ICC sent a notice to the USA Cricket Board in the annual conference held in Sri Lanka last year.

This year there was a meeting in Singapore, in which the ICC gave this board 3 months to prepare a systematic structure. This will not affect the cricket tournament to be held in Los Angeles Olympics 2028.

Quoting the USA Cricket Board Chairman Venu Pissu, ESPN Cricinfo said in its report that the ICC has not yet contacted him regarding suspension. It is believed that due to being the host, the USA cricket team will participate in the 2028 Olympic Games.

USA Cricket Board Chairman Venu Pisike opposed the instructions of both ICC and United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, which demanded a change in leadership. After which a notice was sent to the board in July last year. The ICC had given time to the board to improve within 1 year, but nothing happened after the time was over. In the meeting held on July 19 before this action, the ICC gave 3 months more time, but still the USA board remained focused on its arbitrariness. Now the ICC suspended the USA Cricket Board taking big action.

Usa Cricket Board Suspension: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has adopted a very strict attitude towards the USA Cricket Board (USAC). The ICC sent a 12 -month governance notice to the USA Cricket Board, which is ending next month. It is reported that either the Cricket Board of the United States makes significant changes in its leadership or the board can be suspended. On this, a big decision can be taken in the ICC annual meeting next month.

Notice was sent to USAC in July just after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup last year. The ICC was established the generalization committee last year to monitor compliance and reforms. The International Cricket Council formed this committee by citing administrative disability behind this.

According to the Times of India, a team of ICC reached Los Angeles this month, where it had a meeting with the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee. In this meeting, some high officials of that generalization committee and USAC were also present. According to the report, a big official said that despite the continuous warnings, there has not been much change in the circumstances. It is being told that the ICC has made it clear that after the return of cricket, especially in the Los Angeles Olympics 2028, the necessary changes in the leadership have no longer the issue of debate.

The ICC team urged some USAC officials to step down. Some officers are ready to resign, but are not ready to do something at all. A source quoted by the Times of India said that the USAC has not taken any decision on this matter yet. According to the news, many USAC officials can submit their resignations in the coming days.
