A major accident occurred on the project site of the under -construction power company THDC at Hallung, Joshimath in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, where a large part of the mountain suddenly collapsed near the site. At the time when this accident happened, more than 200 workers were working on the dam site. Some people have also suffered injuries in this accident.

The accident took place on the diversion site of Vishnugad-Peepalkoti Hydroelectric Project being built on the banks of Alaknanda, where THDC’s assistant HCC company is working. Hundreds of laborers are engaged in work on this site. Suddenly at 11 am today, the mountain began to crack on this site.

It is being told that as soon as big stones were seen coming down from the mountain, there was chaos on the site and the workers started running around to save their lives. Some laborers have also suffered minor injuries in this accident. However, it has been a mistake that no loss of life and property has been confirmed at present.

Preparation for rescue operation fast

After the accident, Tehsil administration and SDRF teams have left for the scene of the incident. Preparations are being made to start relief and rescue operations. The injured laborers have been sent to the hospital for treatment. However, no one has suffered a deep injury in this accident.

Due to the continuous rains on the mountains, the mountains are getting weaker and in this way there are reports of breaking of rocks.
