The Uttarakhand government has taken a big historic step to provide direct and transparent benefits of government schemes to the residents of the state. Now a special digital identity card will be prepared for every family in the state, which has been named ‘Devbhoomi Family ID’. After the Governor gave the green signal to ‘Devbhoomi Parivar Act 2026’, this law has been implemented in the entire state. The special thing about this scheme is that its benefit will be available not only to the land or house owners, but also to other people living in the state for years, due to which the delivery of government services will become much easier.

Tenants will also get big rights

As soon as this new policy came out, the biggest question in people’s minds was whether tenants living in the state would also be able to get this family ID. Yes, according to the new rules of the government, if any family which has been living continuously in Uttarakhand for the last 15 years or more, then it will also be fully eligible to get this Devbhoomi Family ID made. All tenant families fulfilling this condition will be considered as permanent part of the state and will be issued this unique identification number, which will completely eliminate the old confusion related to their residence.

Women will be in charge of the house

A very important and mandatory rule has been added within this scheme to promote women empowerment. Under Devbhoomi Family ID, only the senior most i.e. elderly female member of every family aged 18 years or above will be considered the legal head of the family. This step of the government will not only increase the respect of women in the society, but all the government benefits and financial assistance in future will also be channeled directly through the female head of the family, which will bring a big social change.

Complete horoscope will be recorded at one place

The most technological and modern part of this scheme is its centralized digital database. Within this Devbhoomi Family ID, very important and confidential information related to each family member will be kept safe in digital form at one place. In this, the names of the members, their exact age, important government digital information related to identity, social and economic status, educational qualification and all the details related to employment will be recorded. This ID will serve as a single digital identity for every citizen in future.

It will be easy to get benefits of schemes

The main objective of the government is to stop corruption and provide help to every eligible person through this unique identification number. With the preparation of this database, the general public will be able to get the benefits of various public welfare schemes of the Uttarakhand government directly, without any middleman and in a very transparent manner. It will become very easy for the government to identify eligible families, due to which fraud will be completely controlled and ration, pension and other financial assistance will easily reach the needy people at the right time.
