Ranji Trophy 2025-26: The fourth round of Ranji Trophy 2025-26 has started. Till now, many batsmen have attracted everyone’s attention with their brilliant performances, but what happened at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur surprised everyone. Uttar Pradesh fast bowler Shivam Mavi, who usually does wonders with the ball, shone with the bat this time. Coming in at number 8, he scored a century which no one expected.

The bowler’s bat also ‘spoke’

Uttar Pradesh won the toss and chose to bat first against Nagaland. After this, the UP team declared its first innings after scoring 535 runs for 6 wickets. The batsmen had laid a good foundation from the beginning, but the most talked about thing was Shivam Mavi’s innings. As soon as he landed at number 8, Mavi started his storm on the pitch. He scored 101 runs in just 87 balls. During this, he hit 10 fours and 5 sixes.

This century of Mavi is also special because he touched the figure of 100 runs for the first time in his first class career. Earlier, he had never been able to score even 50 runs in 21 matches, but this time he not only scored a half-century but also converted it into a brilliant century.

Batsmen also added color

Apart from Shivam Mavi, the top order batsmen of the team also performed brilliantly. Wicketkeeper batsman Aryan Juyal played a brilliant inning of 140 runs in 205 balls. During this period he hit 18 fours. Whereas Madhav Kaushik presented a great example of patience and class. He scored unbeaten 185 runs on 374 balls and remained at the crease till the end of the innings. Opener Abhishek Goswami also gave a solid start to the team by contributing 55 runs.

Nagaland bowlers were ineffective

No bowler from Nagaland could put pressure on the batsmen of Uttar Pradesh. Mavi especially attacked the spinners fiercely. His sixes were reaching the spectators’ gallery of Green Park. Nagaland’s bowling rhythm completely deteriorated.

This innings of Mavi can not only prove to be the turning point of his career, but is also considered to be one of the most memorable innings of the Ranji season.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Education Department has taken major action and issued an order to abolish the services of 22 assistant teachers who got jobs on the basis of fake documents. The investigation of the department found that these candidates had obtained appointment with the help of wrong documents. Now instructions have also been given to register an FIR against all of them.

According to the press note issued by the Director of Education (Secondary), this action has been taken on the candidates who were posted as assistant teachers in subjects like Mathematics, Science, Biology, English and Hindi. It was clear in the investigation that these teachers had made a place in the selection process by disturbing the marksheet and certificates. The department has issued a directive to cancel their appointment order with immediate effect, taking strictness.

22 teachers appointed by fake documents

The Education Department has made it clear that those who get jobs on the basis of fake documents will not be spared under any circumstances. Legal action will be initiated against the teachers whose names are included in the list by registering an FIR in the concerned districts.

Departmental officials have also directed that more vigilance should be taken in such appointments in future. For this, intensive examination of educational certificates of the candidates will be done so that no fake candidate can get admission in service.
