Former England captain Michael Vaughan demanded from the Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI that they should think about bringing Vaibhav into the senior men’s team of India. Let us tell you that Vaibhav has now become eligible to join Team India. According to ICC rules, a player below 15 years of age cannot debut in international cricket. Vaibhav had completed 15 years of age on 27th March, a day before the start of IPL.

What did Michael Vaughan say about Vaibhav?

Speaking on Cricbuzz, Michael Vaughan said, “When will he make his debut for India? I’m just looking and I know we’re probably in a hurry. It’s only been the first innings of the IPL, but there’s a white-ball tour of England coming up in a few months. If I were Indian cricket, I would have included him in the tour. He won’t necessarily be interacting with the players in the squad, but the one thing he needs is to be included in the Indian team and to be exposed to the environment of Indian cricket. Let us be introduced face to face.”

It is necessary for Vaibhav to join the team

Vaughan said, “Just include him in the team. If he plays one or two matches, then great, but give him a chance to go on tour. Is he allowed to go on tour at the age of 15? I would like to give him some experience with the Indian team. As I said, it is not necessary to include him in the team directly, just give him a chance to be with the team.”
