Within the last one year, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been roaring in the Indian Premier League, Rising Stars Asia Cup, Under-19 T20 World Cup and now in IPL 2026 also. Meanwhile, former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar says that 15-year-old Vaibhav is ready to join Team India, but only in T20 format. He has also given a special advice to Vaibhav.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has scored 656 runs in his short IPL career of 17 matches and is much talked about for his stormy strike rate. His strike rate in IPL career is 224.66. Even in IPL 2026, he has crossed the 400-run mark and is in the race to win the Orange Cap.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi is ready for Team India

Sanjay Manjrekar said that IPL should be considered a platform to enter Team India and considering his performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, perhaps Vaibhav has qualified to join India’s T20 team. He also played a strong century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Sanjay Manjrekar admitted that Vaibhav has created a stir in the IPL.

The former cricketer also expressed concern that it will not be so easy for Vaibhav Suryavanshi to make a place in the final-11 of Team India. He said that there is a long list of opening batsmen in the T20 team including Abhishek Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill.

Vaibhav got advice

Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s playing style is very good for the T20 format, but he will not be able to survive in Test cricket. The veteran cricketer told that Vaibhav hits more shots on the leg side and makes room for the ball on the middle stump and plays it towards point. But in Test cricket, the batsman has to play as close to the ball as possible. Sanjay Manjrekar said that if Vaibhav goes to Australia, South Africa and England and tries to hit the ball from a distance, he will fail.
