Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, SRH vs RR Eliminator: Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Rajasthan Royals batted brilliantly in the Eliminator of IPL 2026 and scored 97 runs with the help of 5 fours and 12 sixes in just 29 balls. Vaibhav had scored 97 runs in 28 balls. He was out caught on the 29th ball. Thanks to this inning, Vaibhav missed scoring the fastest century in the history of IPL. The record of scoring the fastest century is held in the name of veteran Chris Gayle. Gayle completed a century in 30 balls against Pune Warriors in the 2013 IPL.

Vaibhav had every chance to break the record. He could have completed his century in 29 balls, because he had reached 97 runs in 28 balls. He could have created history by hitting a boundary on the 29th ball, but unfortunately he could not do so. Prafulla Hinge made Vaibhav his victim.

Record of fastest half century in playoff

Even though Vaibhav missed out on scoring the fastest century, he set the record for the fastest fifty in the history of the playoffs by scoring a fifty in 16 balls. Vaibhav has jointly reached the first position in the list. Suresh Raina completed half century in 16 balls while playing against Punjab Kings in 2014 IPL.

Vaibhav has also become the batsman who has hit the most sixes in a single season of IPL. He broke Chris Gayle’s record. Gayle had hit 59 sixes in the 2012 season. Now Vaibhav has gone ahead of him.
