Varun Sharma’s journey was full of struggle
Born on 4 February 1990 in Jalandhar, Punjab, Varun Sharma struggled a long time to enter the industry and make his mark here. In an interview, he talked about his days of struggle and told that his mother supported him a lot. He said, ‘I was a boy from Jalandhar, who had seen film artists only in magazines. All these stars used to be like stars in the sky for me. But after coming here, the industry gave me ample opportunities. Although I also went through the phase of rejection.

Before ‘Fukrey’, I used to do theatre. I have also worked as a casting director. I had to face a lot of rejection in the initial days. Once, after being assured of the main role, he was finally given a small role as a junior artist. There were audition after audition and rejections were also received continuously. I would get tired of hearing ‘Next time, next time’. Then I would return home and call my mother and say, ‘I have run out of money, please send me some.’ Mom used to send money.

Talking about the work front, Varun Sharma was last seen in the film Rahuketu. His film was released in theaters on 16 January. Pulkit Samrat was also seen with her in this film. Although there was hope about this film that it would perform well but it did not get much response from the audience and with this the film proved to be a flop by collecting Rs 5.75 crores.
