Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a jibe at opposition leaders before the start of the winter session of Parliament on Monday (December 1, 2025). PM Modi targeted the opposition and alleged that it is making Parliament a platform to vent out frustration after the election defeat. He also said that if the opposition wants, he is ready to give some suggestions to bring positivity in politics.

Addressing reporters in the Parliament complex before the beginning of the winter session, the Prime Minister said that this session should not become a political theater but should become a medium for constructive and result-oriented debate. He said, “For some time, our Parliament has become either a place of so-called preparation for the elections or a medium to vent out frustration after defeat.”

Referring to the crushing defeat of the opposition in the Bihar assembly elections, Prime Minister Modi said, “The Parliament session should not become a battlefield of disappointment arising from defeat or a platform for arrogance after victory. Record voting in Bihar is the biggest strength of democracy and the opposition should also fulfill its responsibility and come out of the depression after the election defeat.”

Congratulations to Vice President CP Radhakrishnan

The Prime Minister also congratulated and congratulated Vice President CP Radhakrishnan for presiding over the first session as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar had resigned from his post on July 21, 2025, at the beginning of the monsoon session of Parliament, citing health concerns. After this, elections were held for the post of Vice President and Radhakrishnan was elected to this post. The Vice President is also the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. The winter session is Radhakrishnan’s first session as the Chairman of the Upper House. The winter session of Parliament will continue till December 19, 2025 and 15 meetings are scheduled in it, in which the central government is going to introduce 14 bills.
