Climate activist and teacher Sonam Wangchuk, who was leading the ongoing hunger strike demanding state status to Ladakh, ended her 15 -day hunger strike on Wednesday. His decision came at a time when there were incidents of violent demonstrations and sabotage in Leh, which made the situation tense.

Appeal to young generation
Sonam Wangchuk said that he was very sad to see the violence in Leh. He said that violence was not only of some supporters, but the results of the feelings of the whole of Ladakh. He described it as the ‘Bhadas’ of the younger generation and a kind of generation-Z revolution, which brought them to the streets. Wangchuk clarified that there is no democratic platform today and he appealed to the younger generation of Ladakh not to follow the path of violence, otherwise their efforts for the last five years would fail.

Very sad events in leh
My message of peaceful path failed today. I appeal to youth to please stop this nonsense. This only damages our cause.#Ladakhanshan pic.twitter.com/cztnhoukoc

Sonam gave the message of peace
Sonam Wangchuk insisted that the government has given the message of peace and it should not be ignored. He reiterated that the younger generation followed the path of peace so that the purpose of the movement could be fulfilled and the demand for Ladakh to get full state status could move forward in a peaceful manner.

The main demands of the protesters
There are four major demands of protesters in Leh and Ladakh: Ladakh should be given full state status, constitutional security should be ensured under the 6th Schedule, separate Lok Sabha seats should be made for Kargil and Leh, and recruitment of local people in government jobs.

The next meeting on these demands will be held in Delhi on 6 October. Remember, after the removal of Article 370 and 35A in the year 2019, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were made two separate union territories. At that time, the government had also assured that if the situation is normal, Ladakh will be given full state status.

Violent demonstrations were organized in several districts of West Bengal against the Waqf law. Police vehicles were set on fire in Murshidabad, Hooghly, 24 Parganas and Malda districts. Trains and roads were blocked and the incidents of stone pelting and agency were carried out. The first reaction of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has come on the incidents of violence.

CM Mamta Banerjee appealed to the people and said, “We are not in favor of this law. If the Waqf law will not be applicable in West Bengal, then what is the riot?

‘Do not do wrong action in the name of religion’

The CM of West Bengal issued an appeal to the people, saying, “My humble appeal to people of all religions is that please be calm, be restrained.” Do not do any wrong act in the name of religion. Every person’s life is precious, do not provoke riots to do politics. Those who are provoking riots are harming the society. ”

He told the people, “Remember, we have not made the law against which people are angry. This law has been made by the Central Government, so the answer you want should be sought from the central government.

‘Will take action against riots’

Mamta Banerjee said that we have clarified our situation in this matter- we do not support this law. If this law will not be applicable in our state, then what is the riot? He further said that we will take legal action against those who provoke riots. We do not support any violent activity.

Taking a dig at the BJP, he said that some political parties are trying to misuse religion for political gains. Do not get seduced by them. He said that according to me, religion means humanity, goodwill, civilization and harmony. I appeal to everyone to maintain peace and harmony.

(This is breaking news. It is being constantly being updated.)

Nepal Political Crisis: There is a rapid demand to bring the monarchy again in Nepal. It is being demonstrated for this. Due to this violence erupted, in which one person died and many people were injured. Amid increasing tension, the Ministry of Home Affairs has called an emergency meeting with the security heads to handle the situation.

In many areas of Kathmandu, there were violent clashes between the monarchy and security forces. The protesters tried to break the police barricades, in response to which security forces used tear gas. Meanwhile, a corsal complex, shopping mall, headquarters of a political party and a media house building were set on fire, injuring more than 12 policemen.

What is the Nepal government’s response?
Due to this increasing performance and violence, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called an emergency cabinet meeting. The main objective of the meeting is to discuss the incidents of violence and arson in Kathmandu. According to media reports, the government is considering the former King Gyanendra Shah responsible for this violence and his arrest. According to a minister in the cabinet, knowing the opinion of security heads regarding the arrest of Gyanendra Shah and assessing the possible results is being discussed.

Airport shutdown and impact on flights
The Tribhuvan International Airport had to temporarily shut down due to violence in Kathmandu. Several flights were diverted to India, including Bangkok to Air Asia, Dhaka to Bangladesh Airlines, Dubai from Dubai and Seoul to Korean Air. Apart from this, flights of Qatar Airways, Fly Dubai and Batik Air have also been stopped.

Why did the demand for monarchy arise?
In 2008, Nepal ended the monarchy and established a secular, federal, democratic republic. However, recently the demand for restoration of monarchy is increasing rapidly. The main reason for this is political corruption, economic instability, and increasing resentment towards repeated changes of governments.

Former King Gyanendra Shah’s appeal to support public
Former King Gyanendra Shah had appealed to the public on the occasion of democracy on February 19, which further intensified this movement. After this, on his return from his religious journey, thousands of supporters welcomed him at Tribhuvan International Airport. The protesters raised slogans like “Raja come back, save the country”, showing that support for the monarchy is still deep.

Monarchy support is increasing
Political analysts believe that a strong movement is taking shape to demand the restoration of Hindu monarchy in Nepal. The main reason for this is the increasing resentment towards corruption, economic decline, and political instability in the public. Since 2008, 13 governments have changed in Nepal, but political stability has not come.
