The number-1 ODI batsman in ICC rankings is Rohit Sharma, he has 781 rating points. Rohit had played unbeaten innings of 73 runs in the second ODI and 121 runs in the third ODI against Australia. He came to number-1 just a few weeks ago, this week he retained his position. There is no change in the top-4 batsmen in the list, Team India captain Shubman Gill is at number four. Gill has 745 rating points.

Virat Kohli benefits without playing

Virat Kohli was out for a ‘duck’ in the 2nd ODI against Australia, in the third match he played a brilliant inning of 74 runs. But this innings is not the reason for the gain in ranking, in fact Babar Azam’s flop show took him to the top-5.

Last week Babar Azam played 3 ODIs. On 6 and 8 November, against South Africa, Babar Azam was out after scoring 11 and 27 runs respectively. He was able to score 29 runs in the ODI against Sri Lanka on 11 November, due to which Babar Azam was out of the top-5. Babar has slipped from 5th to 7th in the ICC ODI batting rankings.
