AIMIM member of the bill Asaduddin Owaisi said that he will tell how it is ‘unconstitutional’ during the discussion on this bill in the House. He alleged that the bill has been brought for the purpose of controlling the religious rights of Muslims and the public will teach a lesson to BJP allies like TDP and JD (U).

The NDA has 293 MPs out of 542 members in the Lok Sabha and the BJP has been successful in getting the support of some independent members on several occasions. According to official sources, big ally like TDP, JDU and Chirag Paswan -led Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) initially objected to some aspects of the bill, but they can support the bill after some of their suggestions were adopted by the Joint Committee of Parliament.

Some major Muslim organizations are united against the bill. The bill proposes a provision to improve the management and administration of Waqf properties in India. The budget session of Parliament will end on April 4.
