After the results of municipal elections counting in Jharkhand’s Giridih district, the most talked about thing is about 22 year old Kalpana Kumari. Kalpana Kumari has won as ward councilor from ward number 6 of Badki Saraiya. She is the youngest among the winning candidates across the district and is still a student. Kalpana is doing PG in Geology. After winning, he also inspired the young generation to enter electoral politics.

‘People considered me a daughter and sister of their family’- Kalpana Kumari

During this, Kalpana told that she contested elections from ward number 6 and everyone considered her as their daughter and sister and elected her as ward councilor and by giving 239 votes, she became the youngest ward councilor. Kalpana said, “The way the people of Ward No. 6 have made me victorious, I will always be ready for the development of the people of Ward No. 6 and this is not our victory, but the victory of the people of Ward No. 6.”

Kalpana told that when she stood for election, she faced many challenges, such as – if she gets married, she will go to her in-laws’ house. A lot of rumors were spread regarding marriage, but she ignored all these things and focused on her goal and today she was elected as the youngest ward councilor by the public.

Many veterans lost in municipal elections

Kalpana said that youth and especially girls should be motivated to come forward in politics, only then the area will be able to develop. At the same time, many big personalities have faced defeat in this Municipal Corporation election and the credibility of many political leaders has been eclipsed by the vote of the people. Kalpana also said that whoever joins the public, she will also love him.

He assured that work will be done on priority towards making Ward No. 6 a clean, organized and beautiful ward. Local people said that the participation of youth will bring new thinking and new energy to the area. Kalpana Kumari’s victory is being seen as a change in standards and a new beginning of confidence.
