According to the US Secret Service, preliminary investigation has revealed that at around 6 pm Eastern Time, the suspect approached the security checkpoint, took out a weapon from his bag and started firing at the officers stationed there. Secret Service police responded and shot the suspect. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. A passerby was also injured in the shooting. The President was present at the White House at the time of the incident.”
