Washington Sundar, who was the hero of the Indian team in the Manchester Test, scored an unbeaten 101 runs. He helped India to get the fourth Test draw while batting at number-5. On the basis of this century innings, Sundar has claimed to have confirmed a place in the Indian team. Meanwhile, Washington Sundar’s father has made serious allegations against the selectors of the Indian team. His father Mani Sundar has also accused the selectors of bias towards his son.

According to the Times of India, Mani Sundar said, “Washington is constantly doing well, but people keep ignoring their performance. Other players continue to get chances, but only this happens to my son.”

Get opportunity on number-5

Washington Sundar’s father also said that his son should get a chance to bat on number-5 continuously, exactly as he got in the fourth Test. Also, Mani Sundar also says that Sundar should get 9-10 consecutive opportunities for batting on number-5. He said, “It was a very shocking thing that my son was not selected in the first Test against England. The selectors should keep a fine eye on their performance.”

Mani Sundar did not spare even the IPL team of Washington Sundar. According to him, he does not get constant opportunities in IPL also, as a result of this, he was able to play only 6 matches in IPL 2025.

Washington Sundar took 4 wickets

Sundar took 4 big wickets in the second innings. He dismissed Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jamie Smith and Shoaib Bashir. He did not get any wicket in the first innings. England’s second innings was reduced to 192 runs, India got a target of 193 to win.
