The first symptom is heaviness or swelling of the stomach. When you lie in bed and feel fullness or pressure in the stomach, it can be a sign of inflammation in the liver. Many times people ignore it considering it to be gas or indigestion, whereas it can be an early symptom of serious liver disease.

The second symptom is swelling in the legs and buttocks. If there is swelling in the legs while lying down at night and it persists even after waking up in the morning, then it is wrong to ignore it. This is a sign of weak liver capacity and fluid retention in the body.

The third symptom is yellowing of the skin and eyes. When the liver does not function properly, bilirubin starts increasing in the body. Due to this the white part of the eyes and skin becomes yellow. Not only this, the color of urine also starts becoming darker. This is a clear sign of jaundice.

The fourth symptom is excessive fatigue and weakness. Many times people feel tired even after sleeping or their mind feels dull. This is also called brain fog. This is a hidden sign of liver disease, which people often take lightly.

The fifth symptom is accumulation of fluid in the stomach i.e. ascites. When the liver is badly affected, fluid starts filling inside the stomach. This causes difficulty in breathing and feeling of unusual heaviness while lying on the bed. This is a symptom of advanced stage of liver disease.

If these symptoms are identified in time and a doctor is consulted, then serious diseases can be avoided. But it is dangerous to ignore them, because liver disease often progresses silently and can later prove fatal.
