This is the reason why most men do not take this danger seriously. But experts say that the problem of weak bones is not limited to women only. With increasing age, bone density may also decrease in men, which increases the risk of fracture. Many times people do not know about it until a serious injury or bone fracture occurs.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Dr Vivek Mahajan, an orthopedics specialist and head of the joint replacement department at ISIC Multispeciality Hospital, told TOI that osteoporosis in men is often ignored because they do not realize that they too may be at risk. Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones gradually become weak and brittle. Normally the body keeps forming new bones by removing old bones, but with increasing age this balance can get disturbed and bone loss starts happening rapidly. </p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to experts, testosterone is not only important for muscles, energy and sexual health, but it also plays an important role in keeping bones strong. According to Dr. Vivek Mahajan, this hormone helps in the formation and maintenance of bones throughout life. But as men age, testosterone levels start decreasing. It also affects the bones and the body starts losing more bones than making new bones.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>What is the effect of low testosterone?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The effects of low testosterone are not limited to bones only. It can also reduce muscle strength and mass, increasing the risk of falls. Weak bones and greater chances of falling combine to increase the risk of fractures manifold. This is the reason why fractures of hip, spine and wrist bones are more common with increasing age.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>What are its symptoms?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The biggest challenge of osteoporosis is that no obvious symptoms are visible in its initial stages. For this reason it is also called silent disease. However, signs like persistent back pain, gradual loss of height, slouched posture, broken bones in minor injuries or persistent physical weakness should not be ignored. At the same time, fatigue, decreased stamina and weakening of muscles can also be seen in men with low testosterone.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>How can this be stopped?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The good thing is that if identified in time, osteoporosis can be prevented and controlled to a great extent. A diet rich in calcium and vitamin D, regular walks, strength training, abstaining from smoking and maintaining a balanced weight help in keeping bones strong. </p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">There is a thick and strong strip of tissue in the sole of our feet from the heel bone to the fingers, which is called plantar fascia. This bandage protects our feet from shock while walking or running.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">When there is too much pressure on this bandage, small cuts occur in it and swelling occurs. While sleeping at night, our feet are in a relaxed posture, due to which this tissue shrinks. As soon as you wake up in the morning and take your first step on the ground, this shrunken tissue suddenly gets stretched again and you feel severe pain.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;"><strong>What causes this disease?</strong></h3>

<li style="text-align: justify;">Increased body fat places direct and excessive pressure on the ankles.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Wearing slippers and shoes that are very thin or without arch support also causes damage to the soles.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">If your work is such that you have to stand continuously for hours, then you may also face this problem.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"> Pain in ankles also increases due to increase in uric acid in the body, weakening of bones or deficiency of Vitamin D.</li>
