The weather has taken a turn across the country. On one hand, it is summer and sometimes raining in the north and central belt, while sporadic rain is being seen in the east and south. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature in many cities has already crossed 38 to 45 degrees Celsius. At the same time, heavy rains and storms continue in some parts of North-East India. This mixed form of weather is being seen in the entire country.

Even in Delhi-NCR, the weather is showing new colors every day. On Wednesday, strong winds blew in many areas of Delhi-NCR, the speed of which reached 41 km/hour. Along with this, there was rain/thunderstorm in some areas. During the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature in some areas of Delhi increased by about 2 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature dropped by 1-2 degrees Celsius.

How will be the weather of Delhi today?

During the last 24 hours, the minimum temperature in Delhi remained in the range of 19-21 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was around 35 degrees Celsius. During the last 24 hours, east-south-east winds blew in Delhi, whose speed was 10-15 km/hr and with gusts it reached 41 km/hr. According to IMD, the minimum temperature in Delhi-NCR today (May 7) is expected to be between 21 to 23 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is expected to be between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department estimates that today it will be mainly sunny and the sky will be clear, which may later become partly cloudy. There is a possibility of change in weather with thunderstorms in the afternoon/evening. During this period, the wind speed is expected to be 15-20 km/hour and the wind speed may increase with gusts.

Advice given to children and elders to avoid the weather

In view of the fluctuations of weather in Delhi-NCR, the Meteorological Department has advised people to take some precautions. Even though the temperature will be moderate today, it can increase health risks for children, elderly and people suffering from chronic diseases. In such a situation, it has been advised to avoid direct contact with heat. Apart from this, people have been asked to wear light and loose cotton clothes. Along with this, people have also been advised to keep their heads covered.
